Chapter 18

I pulled my car in the parking lot of the only dress shop in Forks and went inside to find Sue, Charlie and Bella all there trying stuff on. I put my hands in my jean pockets and smiled up at my sister.
    "Hey". I said to her.
    "Hi. You okay? You look like something happened?" Bella questioned me.
    "You remember those books that we read about Dracula?" Bella nodded her head. "Well I had a conversation with him just before I came here". I whispered to Bella. She gasped and dropped the hanger in her hand.
    "Everything okay kiddos?" Charlie asked us stunned by Bella's reaction to my statement. I nodded to Charlie and he went back to talking to Sue. Bella grabbed me by my shoulder and pulled me aside.
   "What? Why didn't Edward ever tell me?" She asked. I shook my head.
   "I don't know. Apparently Jasper didn't tell me anything because his murdered wife had the same ability that I'm going to have. So he was afraid to tell me because he figured that Drac was going to steal me away or something like that". I explained to her. Bella let out a sigh and dialed Edwards number.
   "Why didn't you tell me a loud Dracula being real?"
    "I don't care. He's going to take Avery- "
   "he's not...good then. I'm with her now."
    "Yeah will be home soon. I love you too". 
She put her phone back in her purse and sighed.
    "Looks like Dracula is with them now and is here to protect you".
   "I remember him telling me and Jasper that this morning". I stated. Bella nodded and put her arm around me. "It's still weird though. Having him around I mean. I had a huge crush on Drac growing up". I chuckled. Bella joined in.
   "That was before you found out that vampires were real. Now your married to one". She added with a giggle. I grinned.
    "And you are one". We both continued to laugh as we join back up with Charlie and Sue.

        Another hour at the dress shop turned into an all day event and before long I saw that it was dark out and I had to get going. Bella said that she would be home later. She wanted to go visit our cousin and Seth and said she'd back in a few hours. I said my goodbyes to both Charlie and Sue and walked over to my car.
    "Shouldn't you be home with your mate Jasper at this hour?" The familiar voice made me jump and I dropped my car keys on the ground. I pushed my hair out of my face and picked them up.
    "And you should learn to not sneak up on someone Dracula". I said facing him. He grinned.
    "What are you doing out here this late?" He asked me. I sighed.
    "I was shopping with my sister and dad for dresses why do you ask?" I answered him.
    "Jasper's been worried about you".
    "He always worries. I had my sister and she was protecting me if anything happened. Which it didn't". I added getting into my car. I heard the other door open next to me and Dracula got inside. I sighed and started the engine. Having thee Dracula the vampire in my car was a very new experience for me and I wasn't sure how to feel about it. I gulped.
    "So what were you doing out this late?" I asked him. He glanced over at me and smiled.
    "Looking for you". I sighed.
    "Why? I'm not hurt or in danger-"
    "But you could have been Avery".
I sighed. "That's why I want Jasper to change me now rather then later. So I can protect myself from things like other rogue vampires or even the Volturi...."
    "Avery-"
     "Jasper can't protect me for forever. One day he could get slaughtered or be out matched and then what? I get killed and he's left without his mate! I couldn't do that to him". I sighed and wiped some of the tears flowing down my cheeks. I couldn't do that Jasper. Not now and not ever. I knew he couldn't go on without me and I wouldn't want him to live a life of pain and sorrow without me.
    "Avery Jasper is a lucky vampire". Dracula stated as we pulled up to the Cullen house. We both got out of the car and Jasper smiled at me in the doorway.
   "Thanks Drac-"
   "Call me Drake".
I eyed him confused. "Drake?"
    "It's more modern and I'm in the mood for a fresh start". He stated. I rolled my eyes and smiled.
   "Then Drake it is".

Not much happened in this chapter, I think it was a nice chapter for you to see more of Draculas character and what he's like around Avery. More good stuff to come I promise!
