Chapter 33

The next morning after a romantic night with my husband I found that both our bags were already packed. I pulled the sheet on and laid up in out mess of a hotel bed. Jasper smiled and kissed the top of my head.
   "Carlisle says that our fleet leaves in a few hours". Jasper replied pulling a gray tee over his head.
   "Good. The sooner I can get home the better.  I think it's about time that I go see Charlie". Jasper nodded in agreement.
   "Carlisle said that he's been calling almost everyday".
   "I can't imagine what he's been feeling. He had to go through this same thing with Bella and it nearly destroyed him". I replied wrapping my arms around me. Jasper sat down next to me.
   "Once he sees that your alright everything will be fine". Jasper said trying to reassure me.
   "I hope your right".

A few days after we arrived back home I decided that it was time to go see Charlie. I couldn't let his pain of not hearing from me go on any longer. Jasper had said that he should come along, but I felt that it was best if Charlie just saw me instead. While Carlisle said that I was more then strong even to see I still was a bit hesitant at first.
Knocking on the door of my old house I sighed just as the door opened. Charlie opened it and instantly he pulled me into a hug.
    "Hey dad". I said.
    "Dammit Avery". Charlie stated pulling away from me. "Why haven't you called me back?" I sighed as Charlie shut the door behind us. Then I walked over to the couch and swallowed back the pain. I couldn't tell him anything about what happened to me or what had happened to Bella's almost a year ago. I just wanted so badly for him to know that truth, but that wasn't going to happen and part of me wished that it could.
   "Avery your not saying anything..?" He stated. "What's going on?"
   "Everything's fine dad...we just extended our trip for another mouth. That's all-"
   "Bull shit Avery. You didn't extend your trip". Charlie shouted.
   "Dad please trust me. I wouldn't lie to you". I pleaded. I sighed. That's exactly what I was doing. Lying to my own father and I wished that I didn't have to.
   "I don't buy it". He replied.
   "Look dad I can't promise you if I can tell you what happened, but I know that I can tell you that I'm not leaving again. I'm staying right here". I stated firm. Charlie let out a sigh and ran his fingers through his hair.
   "Just like Bella..". He replied.
   "I love you dad and I swear that I'm not leaving again". I promised him.
   "I love you too kiddo". Charlie said wrapping his arms back around me. I knew in this moment that I couldn't leave Charlie again. No matter what happened I had to stay here and be with him.
   "You want to stay for dinner? Sues making your favorite". Charlie stated. I had to fight back the tears. I wanted so much to stay and enjoy a meal with them, but I couldn't. Not now and not ever.
   "Sorry I can't dad. Renesmee wants me to teach her how to play the violin". I lied to him again.
   "Tell Bella to bring her over again. I'd love to see her". Charlie smiled as I exited the house. I smiled back.
   "I'm sure she'd love to see you too". I replied getting into my car. "Bye dad". Charlie waved back at me as I pulled away from my old home.
