Kenyanna's POV:
I could not believe Odell would jump in front of a bullet for me. He had so much going for him. He was one of the top wide receivers in the country man! This would put a damper on his career. He would probably have to sit out the rest of the season. I decided to ride in the ambulance with him. The ride was fast and scary. They rushed him to the ER while the rest of us were in the waiting room.
"I hate being here" Lourie rolled her eyes.
"Me too. The last time we were here...." Cheryl stopped and bursted out crying.
"STOP IT! We will not think negative about this situation. We're going to do what Odell always does. Give it to God." Pops said sitting back. He was acting like this wasn't happening. I was pacing back and forth biting my nails. Brian pulled me down next to him and hugged me.
"He's going to be fine Ken. I pro-" I cut him off
"Don't promise me shit! You already promised nothing bad was going to happen. Now look where we are" I fussed while tapping my foot.
"Well you know Kenyanna. Had you would've told me that a DRUG DEALER was at your party! I wouldn't have done that! Do you not think I feel bad about this? Damn." He bit his knuckle. That was his way of trying to calm down. He was right. I couldn't blame Brian for what just happened
"Brian I'm sorry. I'm just mad"
"I know Ken. Go away. I'm trying to calm down. But you are forgiven. I just can't talk to you right now" he brushed me off and turned his back to me. Wow. And this is how I ended my night. My brother just got shot. My best friend is mad at me. A drug dealer is probably looking for me since I was the one he wanted anyways.
"Wait. A drug dealer? Kenyanna what the fuck you doing being in trouble with a drug dealer?" My pops said turning towards me. I couldn't explain. Because this was Odell's situation and I ain't know if he wanted pops to know. I don't know if he would live or not. So I might as well tell him everything that happened.
"It's a long story but we have time. So-" I was cut off by the doctor walking in.
"Odell Carter?" We all stood up. "Woah. Big family" the doctor smiled.
"Look doctor. We aren't in the mood for jokes. I just want to know if my brother is okay" I spoke up.
"Your brother is perfect! He got hit in his arm. But since his arm was mostly muscle and tissue, the bullet didn't get that far in. We were able to remove it, and as far as his football career goes he's fine. He just has to go to therapy and work hard to play this season. But we don't wanna aggravate the wound more than it already is" the doctor nodded. We all just sighed and threw our heads back. Thank god. "Oh and Kenyanna? Yea he wants to speak to you. He's fully woke and attentive." I looked back at the rest of them. Then walked to his room
"Hey big bro." I smiled big.
"Hey baby sis! I guess I should've listened to you huh?" He chuckled
"Oh my god O! Don't you ever scare me like that again. I thought I lost you. Everything happened so fast" I hugged him tight.
"Yea. Me too. I thought I was gone. But God had another plan for me. How's everybody?"
"They're in the waiting room. They're fine now that we know you're okay"
"Yea. Is pops mad?" He asked not wanting to look up.
"Well he asked about the drug dealer. And he cursed me out. I was going to tell him about the story but the doctor walked in" I looked down
