Christmas Play Apologies

Kenyanna's POV:

After Rodriquez or 'Jay' left, I had to start getting ready for the Christmas play tonight, but this was just part one. The one that I was in for the school. Yea it was tonight. We had to wear Christmas sweaters. After showering, I put on my red Christmas sweater and my black pencil skirt. I grabbed a white fur vest to put on, just to add a little flavor to my outfit. Y'all know I got to show my ass😜.

I took my phone off the charger and texted Dominic

'You coming tonight'

'To what? 😒' he replied. I frowned.

'To my Christmas play. I thought you were coming. And why the face'

'Nah I changed my mind. Not in the mood'.

I didn't feel like arguing so I just left it at that. I went downstairs and nobody was in there. I went to the dimming area and they were eating dinner. Fuck. I haven't ate all day, and I'm hungry. I checked the time and seen I had some extra minutes to spare so I sat at the counter, which was across from the table. I grabbed a plate and started fixing food.

"So you're going to come down here and eat and act like you ain't still talk to this dude that I told you not to talk to?" Odell spoke

"Odell not right now. I'm hungry on my freaking birthday! I have to go perform at a play tonight! None of you still didn't wish me a happy birthday so you know what let me do me for right now" I asked stuffing my face.

"Fine. I'll let you see for yourself." Odell rolled his eyes.

"So your play is tonight huh?" Aunt Katherine smiled at me.

"Uh hu" I said dryly.

"Attitude." Pops said before drinking his wine.

"I don't have an attitude. How come every thing I say y'all think there's attitude behind it?" I crossed my legs

"Attitude!" Cheryl said tilting her head.

"You know what?" I chuckled "I'm not doing this today. Nope nope nope. Not right now" I stood up and threw the rest of the food away. I went into the front room and took mother's car keys. I went in the car and made my way to school.

I pulled up to my school and got out the car. I ran to where the rest of the choir was.

"Kenyanna how nice of you to join us. You're kind of late." My teacher walked up to me.

"Sorry. I haven't eaten all day and I had to eat something before I came here"

"Hmmm. Happy birthday tho" she said and hugged me. The rest of the choir started singing me the birthday song.

"Awww thank you guys" I hugged them.

"Ok everyone. Show starts in 30 minutes. So go do whatever you have to do right now" we left quickly. I seen Brian so I went up to him.

"Hey Brian!" I hugged him.

"Hey best friend! Happy birthday! I hope you enjoyed it" he smiled.

"Not really"

"Yea I heard that Rodriquez came over and Odell beat his ass" he looked at me like is that true.

"HOW YOU KNOW?!"

"You know Ethan fuck with me. That's my bro man. He told me. Since you didn't" he looked away.
