Chapter 15

Ellen's Pov

We got home and I'm honestly so shaken up, I can't imagine how Emma must be feeling! I was only there for a few hours, but she had to spend the whole night there.

Riker left Courtney to her parents' house. I hope she's okay. She must have been so scared.

Ross keeps making sure I'm okay and telling me that he's always there for me, and I love him so much for that, but I hate him worrying about me.

When we got home the party was finishing up, but none of us were really in the mood to party anyway.

Ross and I went up to get our Pyjamas on and then he came into my bed and we fell asleep together.

*The next morning*

I woke up to Emma's phone ringing, she picked it up and her face just completely dropped. She just looked down and tears started to flood out of her eyes.

I thought maybe she'd remembered something about the kidnapping or maybe she was just hung up about the whole Riker thing.

Either way, I needed to comfort her. I kissed Ross quickly and he and Rydel left the bedroom, closing the door behind them.

I went and sat on Emma's bed, she's always there to cheer me up when I'm feeling down, so it was about time I did the same.

I just gave her a hug and told her everything would be okay and she told me that she'd just got a text from her mum saying that her Granda had passed away during the night.

I didn't know what to say, so I reminded her of amazing memories she would always have with her Granda and how proud he will always be of her.

So far, I haven't told you a lot about my bestfriend, but to sum it up she is honestly the kindest most brave person I know and she definitely deserves someone a lot better than me as a sister. But she's stuck with me and she always will be.

After around half an hour Emma started to come around a bit, I cracked a few Ellen jokes and got her back to herself for a while.

Then Riker knocked on the door, I guess he was told that Emma was upset. I told him to come in and he walked in with some hot cocoa and cookies, I don't know why he had this at the first thing in the morning but it's a really sweet gesture.

Riker's Pov

Ellen gave Emma a quick hug and left the room, shutting the door behind her. I sat beside Emma and handed her a mug of cocoa and a cookie. I know this is her favorite so I thought it would maybe cheer her up.

We sit, just eating and drinking for a while. And then Emma tells me what is wrong, I didn't know how to react and how to comfort her. So I just put my arm around her and she rested her head on my shoulder.

The connection we have is unbearable sometimes because I can't do anything about it. But right now I have to focus on being there for her, and that should be easy because her eyes are so easy to get lost in.

Her phone buzzed and it was another text from her Mom, it was about the funeral. She let me read the text and it said that the funeral was in 3 days and that they didn't expect her to be there, but that they'd be thinking about her.

But I didn't want her to miss it, she needs to be with her family at a time like this. I think it's time I showed her how much she means to me ...
