Chapter 14

Ross's Pov

The party is actually going really well. Some of us are playing beer pong and I'm pretty good at it. But I can't help but noticing that Ellen's not around.

I decided to go for a walk outside to clear my head and check on Ellen.

I sit at the deck chair that we always lie on and find something I wish I didn't ... her necklace.

Finding this necklace gave me chills all over because I knew she wouldn't take it off on purpose, and she would notice if she had dropped it.

I lift the locket and bring it in to show Riker. He's worried about Emma too, but he's been trying to enjoy his night.

When he examined the necklace he noticed that it hadn't just fallen off ... it had been pulled off.

Ellen and I hadn't fought, so she wouldn't have pulled it off herself in rage. So someone must have taken it from her.

These thoughts race through my mind, and it must have been out loud because Riker grabbed my arm and grabbed his car keys.

We walked until we got to his car and he told me to get in. We drove around for hours, but there was no sign of Ellen, or Emma.

Ellen's Pov

I was sitting in the back of a van. This wasn't exactly how I wanted to spend my night. The man who took me didn't take the thing out of my mouth, so I still couldn't speak.

This didn't make any sense, why would a random guy come and take me away from the Lynch's? I'm going to have to get him to explain, but I need to be careful.

He stopped the van and opened the doors so that I could get out. He had to help me up though, because he'd tied my hands together with some sharp rope.

He pulled me up and brought me to a huge house, which looked like it could be a mansion. He unlocked the door and made me climb up some stairs in the middle of the house.

We then went into a dark room with no wallpaper on the walls or a carpet on the floor. It was strange, and I could faintly see a figure of a body on the far side of the room.

The man moves me closer and I see that it's Emma, I have to admit, I'm pretty relieved that she's okay. But it would've been so much better if I found this out from a postcard or a text, rather than being kidnapped with her.

He throws me roughly into her and we both sit in fear of this strange man. He left the room, closing the door behind him, luckily Emma's hands weren't tied up so she untied mine and I took the sock out of my mouth.

We sat there speechless, for what felt like hours, but it was probably only around 10 minutes, trying to work out how to escape. Then someone I never thought I'd see again walked into the small room ... Courtney!

I couldn't believe my eyes, but I had complete faith that Ross would find me.

Ross's Pov

We drove some more, and then Riker asked me to think tactically. So I went on instagram and looked through to see if I could find anything strange.

I kept looking and found out that Courtney had put up a photo of a colorful window and two black figures against the window.

This definitely looked suspicious because one or the figures was clearly in a Halloween costume while the other wasn't, so we decided to drive to Courtney's house. When we got there Riker told me to stay calm and we walked up to the door.

Her house was big, but I knew my way around it so it shouldn't be too difficult to find them. I knocked on the door and Courtney answered. But she was wearing a maid's outfit.

When she saw that it was me she had a shocked look on her face. I didn't speak to her, instead I just barged past and up to the room I saw in the instagram photo.

As I thought, Ellen and Emma were both sitting in the room, against the window. Ellen got up and I gave her a quick kiss and stormed out of the house with her over my shoulder, I wasn't letting anyone take her.

Emma's Pov

I can't help but notice the relief on Riker's face when he sees that Ellen and I are okay. I definitely have feelings for him, but I just don't know how to tell him, or if I should just keep it from him for a while.

Ross brought Ellen and I to the car but Riker stayed. We could hear him screaming at the man Courtney was with. She looked terrified too. So Riker grabbed her arm and brought her to the car.

We all got our seatbelts on and Riker drove as fast as he could away from the creepy house.

Courtney was in the front with Riker and I was beside Ellen with Ross because, even though it's only been a few hours since they've seen each other, they still missed each other like crazy.

Someday, I really hope me and Riker can have what they have ... hopefully soon.

Ellen wasn't pleased that Courtney was in the car with us, she was scared how Ross would react. But she also knew that the man who kidnapped us wasn't safe. And that Courtney was better off with us.

Courtney explained that the man had pretended he could be her manager and make her famous, so he moved in with her to be closer to her, and then stole all of her phones and her keys so she couldn't call anyone or leave the house. He made her act as his servant and made sure she couldn't escape.

I still don't know what he wanted to do with Ellen and I though, I'm just glad we're safe.
