Chapter 17

Emma's Pov

We woke up quite late in the morning and went downstairs to eat our brunch. Ellen's mum had made us all pancakes and bacon because she knew that we would be pretty jet lagged. We finished eating and then went up and got changed. When the 4 of us were ready Ellen and I decided to show Ross and Riker around our town.

We got into the hired car and drove for around half an hour until we got to Belfast. We parked in the closest parking lot and walked into the center of town. We start shopping in Victoria Square and Ross and Riker left Ellen and I to do our shopping and they went off somewhere, not telling us where they were going, which we both found quite suspicious.

Emma and I shopped about for a bit more and then I got a text from Riker asking for us to come and meet them at the top of Victoria Square.

We finished shopping and then got into the elevator to the top of the building. We stepped out into a huge clear dome and saw Riker and Ross standing looking very smart in a suit and tie.

There was an older looking man standing in the corner of the dome playing a really peaceful, romantic song on the violin.

Ellen's Pov

Ross looks so handsome in a tux, and I could tell Emma thought the same about Riker because she couldn't stop staring at him, and I think she was drooling a bit. The brothers brought us to separate tables on opposite sides of the dome and they pulled each of our seats out and we all sat down.

Ross poured me a glass of water and then sat down facing me. We sat for a while and I kept getting lost in his big, hazel eyes. The tables had a clean, white cloth on them with the plates and cutlery set out and a red rose in the middle. A few waiters came from the elevator and served us a steak and chips each, which is Emma's favourite so it was probably Riker's idea.

We kept chatting and eating and it started getting dark outside. We finish up and decide to head home, but Riker and Ross hand us both a small parcel each. We open it and it's a small ring box. I open the box up and a perfect silver ring is shining inside.

I looked over at Emma and she was standing staring at a beautiful light blue ring and then she looked up at Riker. She gave him a big hug and then he kissed her.

Riker's Pov

What am I doing? I really like her, but I shouldn't be doing this. I can't help it though. It just feels so right.
