Chapter 19

Emma's Pov

We woke up quite early and got ready for the day ahead, the day I'd been dreading. But I know that I've got so many people here to support me and my family. Ellen's mum is really close with my family, like Ellen is, so she drove us to the church when everyone was ready.

We arrived at the church and some of my family and close family friends were standing outside, my eyes started to blur with tears and all I could see was a sea of black clothes. Riker grabbed my hand and guided me to my parents at the front of the church. I sat at the front and Riker, Ellen and Ross sat behind us, because the family all have to sit together.

I went into a room to the right of the stage and saw my cousins and they all came over and gave me a hug, I love how supportive everyone is towards each other. Around 15 minutes later we heard organ music playing and we walked in and sat in the first row of the seats and the minister got up and started to speak. We sang my granda's favourite hymns, he spoke a little more and then my older cousin got up on the stage.

She read a really lovely bible verse and it brings everyone in the whole church to tears. There is a PowerPoint of my Granda on the scene at the front of the church and it reminds me of all the amazing memories I will always have with him.

When the service was over I met with Riker, Ellen and Ross and we got into Ellen's mum's car and drive to our local golf club. My whole family and some friends are there and we all have some lunch together. This whole day was so emotional but my family being there made me feel so much better.

Ellen's Pov

The service was so lovely and we all chatted with Emma's family and hopefully made them feel like they had people there to comfort them. The whole day Riker and I were worrying about Emma and hoping that she was feeling okay.

We stayed at the Golf Club for a few more hours and then we decided to give everyone a little bit of time with just the family. So my mum, Riker, Ross and I went home and Emma stayed with her family for the rest of the day.

When we got back to my house we watched a movie and waited for Emma to get back. Ross told me that he had a surprise for me tomorrow and his surprises are always good so I'm super excited.

Emma arrived just after the movie finished and we all went up to bed. Our trip to Northern Ireland has been really good so far, hopefully it stays that way.
