Chapter 16

Riker's Pov

I brought Emma downstairs, I knew that being with the family would make her feel loved and supported.

She put her hoodie on and I grabbed mine and we walked down to the kitchen. When we have a big family event or even just a movie night, we all get our hoodies on and we all feel safe. It's kind of like a family tradition now.

I have my breakfast and then everyone gets up and gets into the pool, but I ask Ellen and Ross if I can talk to them alone.

I go into the living room and they sit on the chair beside me. I tell then my surprise for Emma and they both think that it's an absolutely great idea, which I'm very glad about.

Ellen's Pov

Riker's being so supportive towards Emma right now, he's definitely very into her.

Riker gets into the pool and me and Ross get his computer and start looking at plane tickets for the 4 of us to go back to my home.

Yes, that's the surprise. We're bringing Emma back to Northern Ireland to go to the funeral and be with her family.

I really hope this is the right thing for us to do for her, but right now it seems like a really good idea.

I buy 4 tickets for a flight from California to Dublin, because there aren't flights straight to Northern Ireland. We'd have to drive from Dublin airport for 2 hours until we got to my town.

We'll be exhausted but to make it in time for the funeral, we have to leave tomorrow morning.

We print out the tickets and go outside to speak to Emma. I hand her the tickets and she attacks me with a massive hug. I'm so pleased she likes it.

Emma's Pov

Ellen explains how this was all Riker's idea ... and the butterflies come back. I can't believe he has done all of this for me. It's so amazing that he'd be so sweet.

We all eat our dinner and then me, Ellen, Ross and Riker all get an early night because we'll be up extremely early in the morning.

*The next morning*

We all get up at 5am, we packed last night so all we have to do is get changed and get into Riker's car.

I get changed, grab my hoodie and bring my bags downstairs to the car. We load up the car and start driving to the airport.

I have to admit, I'm really worried about seeing my family again ... It's been 2 months now since I've been with them and so much has happened.

I'm nervous, but I can't wait to see them. I've missed them so much and I know Ellen is really excited too.

Ross's Pov

It takes us around half an hour to get to the airport and it doesn't take long until we get into the plane. Just the usual airport control and all.

When we get onto the plane I'm beside Ellen and Riker is beside Emma. It worked out pretty well. We fly for 8 hours straight, which made us all completely tired and really grumpy, but at least we arrived in Dublin with no hassle at all.

We collect our bags again and rented a car because Riker's was still back in California. We drive for 2 hours and then finally arrive in Ellen's hometown. I have to say, it's such a sweet town with shops everywhere and loads of houses.

When we get to Ellen's house, we all have a quick glass of water with her mum and then go up to bed. Ellen and I sleep in Ellen's bed and Riker and Emma on airbeds on the floor.

I can already tell that our visit to Northern Ireland is going to be one I'll never forget ...
