Chapter 8

Riker's Pov

We were all sitting in the kitchen wearing our PJ's with the hoodies Ross made for us as well. He told us that Ellen was feeling a little shaky about their relationship and that this should make her feel a little better, and feel like part of the family.

We sat chatting and drinking our cocoa when we heard Ellen coming down the stairs ... I'm not gonna lie, I'm not 100% comfortable with their age difference. But I know Ross, and I know he wouldn't do anything he's not meant to with her, and she's so lovely.

She walked in looking like a ghost with a pale face, paler than usual, and Ross's phone in her hand.

She walked up to Ross and I think we could all tell that she wouldn't be saying something lovely and bubbly like she would have earlier.

She just handed him his phone, which looked like it was unlocked and on messages. Ross looked at it and then back at Ellen whose eyes were starting to tear up.

They stood there staring into each others eyes for a few minutes and then Ellen turned away and ran to the front door, she grabbed her kit-bag that she'd already packed and started walking down the street.

Ross stood there in pure shock and worry. Me and Rocky ran with him out of the house.

Ross's Pov

What have I done? Why did I have to text Courtney again? I was perfectly happy with Ellen before this happened! I'm so stupid ... Now she's never gonna want to speak to me again and I don't know what I'm going to do.

We waited at the front door for a while, deciding what to do. Then Rocky and Riker started running down the street and I followed them. We saw an ambulance and a few police cars in the distance.

A lot of thoughts were running through my head as I saw a brown haired girl being put into the ambulance by some paramedics.

There was a man standing outside of his car being questioned by the police and a few blood stains on the road. I overtook my brothers and ran as fast as I could. While running I was praying that it wasn't my girlfriend in the back of that ambulance.

The sirens started going and the paramedics were closing the doors to the ambulance and when they saw me running towards them they realized that I must be involved with the victim.

They let me in the back of the vehicle and I looked at Ellen in shock ... She had blood all over her head and luckily she was breathing, but very slowly.

Her eyes were shut but when they slammed the door her eyes opened wide. She looked at me and said 'Rossy, is that you?'. I just grabbed her hand reassuringly and told her that everything was going to be okay.

We got to the hospital in about 5 minutes and she was rushed to a room. One of the doctors told me to wait in the waiting room until they found out if there was any damage done to her.

Rocky's Pov

Ross got into the ambulance and we ran back to the house, we got to the family who were already worried enough because Ellen ran off.

We told them that she'd been hit by a car and Ross was with her going to the hospital.. I got my keys and Riker got his and we got everyone into both our cars.

Mom, Rydel, Ellington and me in mine and Dad, Ryland, Emma and Riker in his.

We drove to the closest hospital as quickly as we could and went into the waiting room, to find a very panicked Ross sitting with his head in his hands.

We all sat around him and then a nurse came in to talk to us. We stood up as she spoke, she said that Ellen had a few bad bruises on her body but no permanent damage was done to her.

She told us that 3 of us at a time could go in and see her. Of course Ross went in, also Rydel and Emma.

Rydel's Pov

We went into the room to see how Ellen was, I don't think I've ever seen Ross this worried before. He ran into the room and gave Ellen a huge hug ... But I noticed that she wasn't hugging him back.

He pulled back and sat on the chair beside her with his head looking down at the floor. Me and Emma went and gave her a hug and talked to her for 10 minutes, but she didn't talk to Ross the whole time ... Or even look at him.

I gave Emma a signal for us to give them some space and we walked out of the room.

Ellen's Pov

What's Ross doing here? After what he did to me. And he's just sitting there, not even saying anything, just feeling sorry for himself or something?

We sit there in silence for a few minutes and then he finally says something.

"How are ya feeling?"

"Good I guess, why do you care?"

"Maybe because your my girlfriend and I care about you more than anything?"

"So you care about me enough to text another girl behind my back?"

"I'm sorry! It's just ... I ... I."

"It's just you miss Courtney and want her back because I'm not good enough for you."

"You know that's not true! The only reason I texted her was because she texted me first, we were really good friends before we dated and I miss that! But I don't miss her being my girl-friend because I've got you, and you're what I want."

"Do you really mean that Ross?"

"Of course I do! I love you Ellen."

"I love you too."

He kissed me and then Stormie and Mark came into the room. They had a huge smile on their faces when they saw that I obviously wasn't still mad at Ross.

We sit and chat with Stormie and Mark and then Ryland, Riker and Rocky came in wanting to talk to me.

Rocky sat down beside Ryland on a sofa on the other side of me to where Ross was sitting. Rocky started talking like he was a doctor and using technical terms for the equipment in the room. I knew he was only messing around but it was pretty funny. Rocky's always making us laugh.

After Rocky was finished we spoke until a nurse came in and told everyone to leave and let me rest for 3 days.

Ross's Pov

I can't believe I have to last 3 days without seeing Ellen, but I'll keep myself amused and I'll do all I can for her.
