Thunderclan has two pregnant queens, and many cats are starving. They found a maze of tunnels under the grassy clearing on the rclan border that housed lots of mice and rabbits
Riverclan asks Thunderclan at (Jan) Gathering for rights to the grassy clearing on their border. Thunderclan needs it to survive, and Silverstar refuses.
A thaw comes and goes quickly, turning the ground to ice
Several wild animals; a fox and a badger; are seen nearby, foraging for food. Many Thunderclan warriors are injured chasing them off.
Silverstar refuses to eat before her clanmates, and loses her first life to starvation.
An elder dies
The kits are born, and two of seven die of malnourishment in the first week
Riverclan says, at (February) Gathering, that they lost two apprentices and an elder.
Silverstar still refuses to give up the land. Riverclan says they'll defend it with their lives.
A fire ruins a third of the Thunderclan Forest. Silverstar is burned saving Featherpaw and loses her second life.
Starvation continues
At (March) Gathering, Riverclan calls Thunderclan heartless rouges for not giving them the land, and that they will take action immediately, giving Silverstar one last chance.
She still refuses
Silverstar places extra patrols on the Riverclan boundary.
Featherpaw is usually dismal, and is gone even more
Two days go by, and Riverclan hasn't even placed their border markers.
Thunderclan starts to assume Riverclan had been bluffing at the gathering, and the patrols go back to normal
The snow melts, and Thunderclan doesn't think Riverclan will need the field anymore, because the ice is gone
A drought spans a quarter-moon, and the ground is hard and frozen
Then, Thunderclan's border patrol finds Riverclan border markers on the Thunderclan side of the grassy clearing. No Riverclan cats are seen at the border.
Silverstar launches an attack to the Riverclan camp, so they can keep the field once and for all
Featherpaw is hesitant
Silverstar herself leads the attack, and they clash at the unused mine. Rain pours down harder than it has in seasons.
Riverclan meets them at the stone hollow and they fight
the still-frozen ground with the big rain creates a flash-flood. Water rushes past everyone's paws into the stone hollow
Streamstar had a plan. Riverclan pushed the Thunderclan warriors into the stone hollow. Only four truly fell.
Silverstar ordered a retreat. Featherpaw was dangling over the edge, Pebblepaw was trying to save her, and Silverstar went to grab her, but got shoved from behind by Streamstar.
Streamstar's plan had been to make the Thunderclan cats starve in the hollow until they surrendered the clearing. But the hole was filling, and was up to the cat's bellies
Silverstar asked to let Thunderclan go, because they had lost lives too. Streamstar refuses.
Pebblepaw lowered down some branches, but none reached, so Silverstar put her clanmates on it to float. She didn't go on because it was already too heavy
The water rises to the cats' muzzles, and Silverstar tried to swim. Featherpaw swam off the branch to her mentor. Pebblepaw jumped in after her.
The water swirls in the mine like a whirlpool, and Pebblepaw, and Riverclan cat, struggles in the current
Silverstar fights to keep her apprentice afloat, but loses her third life in the floods, and Featherpaw is left floating on her dead mentor, so Pebblepaw comes beside her and helps
Riverclan's territory is flooded, and Silverstar lets them live in the clearing until the floodwater goes down
Streamstar refuses, and exiles Pebblepaw
Silverstar accepts Pebblepaw into Thunderclan and makes Featherpaw his co-mentor
