Chapter 46: All Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

Simon's POV
"Well, well. Look who it is. I didn't think you'd link this early, 27. We just talked a week ago." I told my friend, BCC-27, as a little smile appeared on my face.

27 and I have known eachother ever since I was 1,209,600 seconds old. We've been great companions ever since then. We work together a lot, and she makes it so much better for me.

"Yeah, we have. Did you find Ms. Ellusia yet? He is getting impatient. Also, work has been harder without you in the lab. You've been gone for 8,765 hours now..." She says, her white ponytail moving around as she talks.

"Actually, I did." I said, as she stopped her talking. She was probably processing the information I just gave her. That happens sometimes with her... but, I'm capable with it. Sometimes, it makes my systems not stress as much.

I don't know what it means though... I'm not supposed to appreciate it, but, I do.

She blinked, and our conversation continued, as if nothing happened.

"Wait... really? That's such an achievement! Wonderful job!" She said to me, causing my circuits to increase in temperature. This always happens when I get in contact with BCC-27.

"I'll send you the coordinations to the next transition period. Then, I'll be able to see you, and you can finally complete your mission!" She said, a smile on her face as well.

But, something in her voice synchronizer seemed off. It would get louder, and her eyes would grow a little more. I hope this isn't what I think it is...

"27, are you..."

"Everything's fine, 14. Just, fine..." she said, the voice synchronizer getting more glitched and lagged up.

"No. 27! Your using emo-"

"I've got to go! Sorry, 14..." she said, disconnecting the signal link between us.

I didn't even get to say good bye...

Man, I hate that she isn't here to help me. Her intelligence level is really high, and she can process a lot of things at a period of time that I could only wish for!

There is one thing I do know. With the glitches and abilities she has, I can tell that she would appreciate it here in the real world. I just know it. All we need is one opportunity, if he would let us.

But, he wouldn't care. He never really cared for us much. He didn't program us with many things to make us look or sound very human like...

I just have to focus on my task at hand, for now. I can't let anything else get in my way of this. That would not be good for me.

I know what has happened to the other units when they messed up to many times for his liking... and I don't want something like that to happen. Anyways, I am the most recommended BCC unit right now! At least, that's what I'm concluding...
