"Jewel, can you come here for a moment?"

I sighed rolling off my bed and setting down the book that I had just gotten interested in. I ran down the stairs and came to a halt at the kitchen door before smoothly entering.

"Yes, daddy?"

I walked over to the dining room table where he was seated with his coffee and newspaper like he always was before he went off to work. I clasped my hands behind my back and rocked back and forth on my heels innocently. He put down his newspaper and looked up at me with a smile covering his face.

"Do you have any plans tonight?"

I nodded my head yes. "I planned on going to the movies with Cresh."

He nodded solemnly and the large smile disappeared from his face. "Alright. I was going to see if you'd like to come to dinner with me and the crew, but maybe another night."

I felt bad because all he wanted to do was spend quality time with me.

Ever since my mom passed from cancer he has been trying to spend more time with me. I understand it but I'm almost 18 and I do need time on my own.

"Maybe this weekend."

He nodded and a small smile took over his face. His blue gray eyes lighting up. "Sure."

He stood from his place at the table and put his coffee mug in the sink before setting his newspaper folded on the counter. "Well, I'm off to work."

He walked over to me and placed a kiss on my forehead. "Love you."

"Love ya." I called out before hearing the door shut.

A smirk played at my lips as I ran back upstairs to my room. I grabbed my phone and began texting Cresh or as I like to call her Cali.

I like to have nicknames for all of my friends so to me they both have two names.

'Hey, beyotch! Po po just left. Come over so we can get ready for the parteh!'

I set my phone down on my bed before waltzing over to the closet. My phone chimed signaling that I had a text.

'Be right over turd'

I rolled my eyes letting out a chuckle while shaking my head. I most likely just woke her up from a nap, the thought causing me to chuckle evilly.

She lived a couple houses down so I knew that she would be here any second now.

I heard the door open and close before footsteps pounded up the stairs. Cresh came sluggishly walking into my room before sending me a glare and collapsing backwards onto my bed.

"You disturbed my beauty sleep."

"It's your own fault for falling asleep at three in the afternoon."

I heard her groan knowing that I was right causing a smirk to pull at my lips. "Are you wearing that?"

She sat up and nodded before looking down at her outfit. It consisted of a Rolling Stones cropped red tank, ripped black leggings under short denim shorts, with black studded motorcycle boots. Her dark purple long curly hair was down and she had her tattoos on full display up and down her arms.

"You're changing. Right?"

"Duh."

I flicked through the clothes in my closet before landing on a short, tight, black sequined dress with my silver spiked high heeled lace up booties.

I walked to the bathroom to change and fix my unruly hair. After quickly changing, I applied a thick coat of black eyeliner with deep red lipstick to complete the look.

I left my long curly brown hair down and made sure my blonde highlights that were just around my face stayed down too. My tattoos were still covered but I did make sure to show off my pierced nose.

I walked out of the bathroom to see Cresh looking in the mirror fixing her outfit.

"Ready?"

She turned around and smiled. "Don't you look smoking?"

I laughed and walked out of my bedroom, towards the stairs and out the front door.

"Same to you!" I laughed as she ran to catch up.

I locked my front door tossing my keys into my purse with my phone and hopped down the stairs of the front porch. We hopped in her sports car and rode to the party.
