What I wished was true

11-hes just a friend!

Cauy is at school the next day and sees me talking to Carter about baseball. He doesn't realize that he's just a friend.

"Hey!" Cauy says walking up to me and sliding his arm around my waist. "Is this the new kid? Carter, right? I'm Cauy,"  he says shaking hands. "And I've seen that you've already met my girlfriend!"

"Ya, I guess so. She's really nice, you're lucky to have her," Carter said, winking at me.

"Sorry bro, shes with me," Cauy said having obviously seen the wink. It was pouring outside and I only had a pull over on so Cauy gives me his holister jacket.

"Cauy, it's fine."

"No, not really," Cauy says glaring at Carter.

"He's just a friend!" I'm cut off by the bell. Carter puts a note in my hand and I shove it in my back pocket.

There is an announcement 10 minutes after biology starts that says we can go home due to flooding. Cauy walks me to my locker when Mrs.Holub gives us our assignment and we get my novel and head to his house.

Cauy clutches the steering wheel to the point of his knuckles turning white,"I didn't do anything wrong why are you so pissed?!" I ask irritated.

"He was looking at you like you were a chew toy, he's bad news Embry," Cauy replied smoothly. We stop by the Junior High to get Jacob.

We finally get to Cauys house and Jacob sits at the table and Eats a snack (and texts a girl😉)while I go to the bathroom and change into my sweats that were there and one of Cauy's T-shirts.

I walk out to Cauy standing at his doorframe down the hall. I walk up to him and put he arms around his waist and he looks at me. "I don't want you hanging with him, ok?" He says

"He's my friend though," I say stepping away feeling hurt.

"He is going to take advantage of you," he says deeply.

"I won't let him! I like you!" I yell shoving his chest.

"Well you sure aren't acting like it!" He exclaims.

"Says the guy who wouldn't answer his phone!" I scream.

"I was busy!" He says and at that moment I know I can't lose him. I hug him and he hugs me back.

"Uh-hum!" We hear from Jacob and stop. "I ran out of Oreos where are the rest?" He asks innocently.

"In the very back of the pantry under some tea packets," Cauy says and shoos him.

He leaves and Cauy goes back to hugging me.hen he starts kissing me. He takes my hair down and I realize that I'm to young for intensity like this so I stop and so does he.

We eventually fall asleep after watching TV for 30 minutes and when I wake up seeing that it's 4:30. Dang. I see Cauy stirring and I look at him.

"So... Wanna go get some food or something?" Cauy asks.

"Bruh, I'm still mad at you," I say. "So mad that I can't eat with you."

"Bro dang! Chill," he says teasingly ,"then let's stay in here."

"I said I was to mad to eat WITH you, I'm not to mad to eat with Jake though," I say before walking downstairs.

"C'mon!" He says when I leave the room.

I get a text from my mom saying that I have to cook supper because she has to work her weekly night-shift at the hospital. It's lasagna night. Crap.

I go open the freezer when I Cauy walks down and sits on the counter. I get an ice cream sandwich and a small bag of cookies before I sarcastically say,"Well, it's your lucky day! You get to come over and help me cook dinner! Only if you want to help me though." I brush a piece of grass off Cauy's shirt.

"I have to go out of town to help some family friends, but u can help you next week, plus u thought you were pissed at me?" He says with smirk.

"Never mind that, well we gotta go. Kameron is doing community service and won't be home 'till late so I guess it's just me and you bud," I say nudging Jake when he walks up to me yawning and hugging me. (It's what he does when he wakes up from his naps)

"I have baseball practice at the field house in an hour remember?" He says with a groggy look. DANGIT I'm going to be alone cause Elise has dance. Eh, the rain died down a little.

"Ok it will be me and Bella then," I say sticking my tongue out at Jacob. "Now c'mon we've got to go if I want to get this food cooked. Bye Cauy."

Jacob and I go home and he gets ready for baseball. I take him to the and decide to get chicken express tonight. I decided to leave when everyone started showing up when I hear a voice saying ,"Hey Embry! Didn't know you played baseball with little kids."

"And I didn't know you were annoying, wait, yes I did," I say with a laugh.

"Ouch, so what are you doing tonight or are you gonna be with Cauy?" Carter says.

"Nope it's just gonna be me and my dog, wanna come over too? I was just about to go to Chicken E," I say with a smile.

"Sure, I'll follow you there."

"Want my roll?" Carter asks when we get settled on my couch with a movie playing. I grab his roll and hand him one of my fries.

"So, where's your dog? I wanna see him," Carter says looking around.

I hear the potter patter of Bella's feet, "Here SHE comes."

Bella walks up to the couch and jumps on me. "This is Bella."

"She's adorable!" Carter says reaching out to her, "you should mix her with an Australian Shepard," he says matter-a-factly.

"She's to young," I respond when there is a knock at the door. Kameron is in his room studying (anti-social much?) so I get confused. I get up from the couch and walk to the door.
