16-well aint that sweet

I wake up with something around my middle finger and I look down. A ring with a baseball and a catchers glove. I look over at Carter and he is Asleep. The bus stops and we are at the baseball field. I shake Carter until he wakes up.

"Alright put your undershirts on under your jerseys, it's gonna rain. Embry go to the restrooms and change," Coach Bartley says.

I walk to the restrooms and change. When I walk out in about to turn the corner to where the bus is when 3 guys walk around in and run into me. I fall to the ground and get up saying, "Hey! Watch where you're going I've got a baseball game to get to!"

"Well ain't that sweet," a guy in a baseball uniform with knee pads on says, "a little girl is gonna be playin with the big boys,huh?"

"In fact I am!" I say shoving through them. I turn the corner and an halfway to the full bus when the guy grabs me. I scream and kick him. He pulls away from me and I run to the bus. I walk in and steady my breathing while the guys are staring at me.

"What did some bastard try to take you?" Casin asks laughing.

"That's exactly what happened and thanks to me, they probably won't have a good catcher cause I did what I had to do... I kicked him!" I say end the boys cheer. I walk to my seat.

Coach Hendo tells us to get on the field and we do so.

For the fiirst 3 innings I'm a first base and Carter goes for Left Field. Then, for the ending innings I'm at Catcher and Carter at pitcher. Coach pulled us aside before the game started and said that he needs the stronger players for the ending.

I practice throwing with Jonathan, since it's always been like that, and the ball slips from his hand an goes toward Hinton's dugout. I run and a guy hands me the ball. "I believe this belongs to you, miss?" He asks with a smirk and a wink.

"Well thank you! Better get back to my team or my BOYFRIEND will get mad," I say with a dirty look.

I run back over and coach tells us to get in the dugout. We're in field first after hey do the coin toss and I put my hat on and run to first. Parker throws a strike to Jonathan, then another. STRIKE 3. Parker throws another to the guy I notice as the one that gave me my baseball back. The ball is hit and I catch it. Parker throws 3 more strikes and that's the third out.

I go to my bag and pull out my helmet and batting gloves put before walking out to the batter's warmup. Jonathan hits the ball and runs to first base. I walk up to home plate and the pitcher throws a strike.

'Well now I know what his strike looks like' I think.

I swing at his next one and make it to second. We score 5 points this inning and 4 points the next.

It's Me and Carter's turn for our places. I squat behind home plate and it starts pouring rain. Great.

When the game ends we won 15-9.

I grab my duffel bag from the bus and go change into shorts, a tshirt and a hoodie.

I get back into the bus and I'm the only person until the boys come back from the restroom from changing. I sit by the window and wait for Carter who is wearing a tshirt and sweat pants.

Dang he looks hott.

Casin sits next to me and grabs me by my neck and kisses me. I push him off and he gets $10 from Luis.

Carter punches Casin across his jaw and hen pulls away and comes to me. He wraps his arm around my waist, "Oh my gosh are you okay I'm so sorry-"

I cut him off, "I'm fine it was just a dare." I'm pissed.

It's that time of month and this just ruined my entire day.

I pull my headphones out and put them on full blast. We show up at Chicken Express and got food. Carter doesn't press my buttons at all.

We are sitting in our seats on the bus and Jonathan gets in the sea in front of us, "Here, thought you might need them." He hands me a king sized Hershey's bar.

I thank him and open the chocolate.

"Can we talk?" Carter asks looking at me.

"I'm sorry I snapped at you I shouldn't have and I'm just pissed off," I explain.

Carter grabs my free hand and I finish my chocolate.

I yawn and put my headphones back in. I turn the volume down to halfway and fall asleep with Carters arm around my waist and my head on his shoulder.
