Y/N POV

The cold, frosted breeze of the mountains swept through the Hogwarts courtyard as several students gathered in a tight huddle, doing their best to keep warm. Overhead, the sky was a light grey color, but the students didn't mind, for they were eager to embark on their trip to Hogsmeade Villiage. Near the center of the group, I stood beside Seamus Finnegan and Dean Thomas, who shivered in their coats.

"What's taking so long?" Dean asked, his breaths coming out with clouded air.

"I don't know," I mumbled in reply.

"This way everyone!" Professor McGonagall's voice suddenly sounded through the air. "Follow me!"

"Finally," Seamus spoke, letting out a soft chuckle. "I was about to leave and go there myself."

I softly smiled and fell into step beside him, trying to shake off the uneasy feeling in my chest. It wasn't the chilly weather or the dreary sky that had me on edge — it was the memory of the argument I had with Harry a few days ago.

Just as we began to move, I heard a familiar voice from behind the group.

"Professor, wait!" Harry's voice called out, breaking through the crowd.

As he passed, he gave me a quick glance then looked away, turning back to face the Professor. This small action caused my heart to sink to the bottom of my stomach. The fight we had was hard on the both of us, and the silent treatment I was getting from Harry only made matters worse.

"No permission form signed, no visiting the village." Professor McGonagall spoke to Harry, sending the boy a look of pity.

"But-"

"That's the rule, Potter," McGonagall cut him off. "Those with permission, follow me. Those without, stay put."

Harry shifted uncomfortably, clearly trying to think of a way around the rule. "I thought if you signed it, then I could..."

"I can't. Only a parent or a guardian can sign. Since I am neither, it would be inappropriate. I'm sorry, Potter. That's my final word." She said.

With that, she turned and began to lead the group out of the courtyard. I couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for Harry. Behind me, Hermione and Ron walked over to the boy, perhaps in attempt to stay with him, but the boy only turned them down.
