Y/N POV

As I made my way to the Great Hall for dinner, the chatter of students filled the corridors, but my thoughts were elsewhere. Days ago, we had seen Barty Crouch murdered in the forest, his body cold and lifeless. It wasn't something I could just shake away. What did it mean? Who had done this? However, the thoughts of Barty Crouch were soon interrupted by the overwhelming nervousness of the final task.

Tonight was the night that the four champions would compete for the Triwizard Cup.

Just ahead, I spotted Cedric Diggory, standing tall as always, his hands tucked into his pockets. I smiled and quickened my pace, weaving through the crowds of students until I was by his side.

"Cedric!" I called, nudging him gently.

The boy turned toward me, his face lighting up with a soft smile, though I could see the tension in his eyes.

"You have a big day tomorrow, don't you Ced?" I said, looking up at him.

"Sure do." Cedric answered. Though, his voice was quieter than usual, the weight of what was to come settling over him. "I won't lie...I'm nervous."

"You'll do great, I know you will," I said firmly, placing a hand on his arm. "You've been preparing for this for ages. And besides," I added, leaning in slightly, "you've got that Diggory charm. It's practically unbeatable."

His brown eyes softened.

"Thanks you for always being there for me, y/n. You've never once let me down in the many, many years I've known you. You're the sister I never had." He said, causing me to smile.

"Love you." I said, leaning in and hugging him.

"Love you too." He said, hugging back.

"As we pulled away, I grinned up at him. "Hey, after you win the Triwizard Tournament, we can throw a huge party. We'll make it a celebration no one will ever forget!"

Cedric's smile brightened, his nerves fading for just a moment. "That sounds perfect. I could use a bit of celebrating after all this."

I giggled, the tension breaking between us as we finally reached the entrance to the Great Hall. The familiar warmth and flickering candlelight inside beckoned us in. "I'll see you tomorrow, then?" I asked, pausing at the doorway.
