─── Y/N POV ───

The next day, Hermione, Ron, Harry, and I trudged through the snow, our boots crunching with each step as we made our way down the path toward Hogsmeade. I tugged my knitted scarf tighter around my neck, watching my breath cloud in the air.

"For weeks, you've carried that book around like it's your lifeline, practically sleeping with it, and yet you don't want to know who this Half-Blood Prince is?" Hermione asked, her eyes narrowing on Harry as she brought up the infamous book for what felt like the thousandth time.

"I didn't say I wasn't curious," Harry shot back, a touch defensive, "And I don't sleep with it."

Ron snorted, shoving his gloved hands into his pockets. "Oh, it's true. All you do is read that bloody book. You're turning into Hermione, mate. Y/n's the only one I can have a normal conversation with these days."

I smirked. "Glad to know I'm still the life of the party."

"Well, I was curious, so I went to...." Hermione started.

"The library." Harry, Ron, and I all said and the same time, cutting her off. "And?"

"And nothing. I couldn't find anything about the Half-Blood Prince." Hermione said.

"There we go!" Harry said with a grin. "That settles it then. Mystery solved."

I rolled my eyes. "Anyone fancy a butterbeer?"

"You bet!" Ron said eagerly, quickening his pace.

The warmth of the Three Broomsticks enveloped us as I pushed open the door, revealing the cozy tavern. People were gathered at tables, drinking, laughing, and even a few sneaking kisses in the corners. I glanced around, trying to find a good spot.

"Here?" I asked, pointing to a nearby booth.

"No, not there." Harry's voice was a little frantic. "Over here."

"Okay..." I said, a bit confused but willing to follow his lead. "By you?"

"No, Ron, sit beside me," Harry said, urging Ron to take the spot next to him.

"What's got into you?" Ron muttered, but sat beside Harry anyway.

As Harry shrugged off his coat, I noticed his eyes were locked on something across the room. I turned to follow his gaze, but quickly wished I hadn't.
