─── Y/N POV ───

The Great Hall was filled with the smell of roasted chicken, freshly baked bread, and pumpkin juice as I entered through the two large doors. I scanned the Gryffindor table, my heart sinking when I noticed Harry Potter was still nowhere to be found.

"Hey," I said, sliding onto the bench beside Ginny.

"Any sign of Harry?" Hermione asked immediately, her voice tight with worry.

"No," I replied, shaking my head as I poured myself a goblet of pumpkin juice. "I thought maybe he'd be here by now."

Ginny frowned, pushing her plate away. "You don't think something's happened, do you? He was acting strange this morning."

"Since when is Harry not acting strange?" Ron replied, his words muffled by a mouthful of chicken.

Hermione's patience snapped. She glared at him for a moment, then picked up her book and whacked him over the head. "Will you stop eating?! Your best friend is missing!"

"Oi! Turn around, you lunatic." Ron said, pointing behind us.

I turned in my seat and saw Harry and Luna walking toward us. Harry looked pale, a tissue pressed to his nose, which was dripping blood. Luna, on the other hand, looked as if she'd just taken a dreamy walk through the Forbidden Forest, completely unfazed.

"He's covered in blood. Why is it he is always covered in blood?" Ginny asked.

"At least it looks like it's his own this time," Ron muttered, scooting over to make space.

Harry sat down beside him, still dabbing his nose with the tissue. His glasses were twisted, and his hair was messier than usual, if that was even possible.

"Where have you been?" Hermione asked. "What happened to your face?"

"Later," Harry said shortly. "What've I missed?"

Ron shrugged. "Sorting Hat gave a big speech. Something about bravery and sticking together in troubled times. Easy for it to say, it's a hat."

"Honestly, Ron," Hermione groaned. "Do you ever take anything seriously?"

"I take lots of things seriously," Ron shot back. "Like Quidditch. And...um..."
