─── Y/N POV ───

The glow of candlelight flickered over the walls of Slughorn's Office, which had been completely transformed for his annual Christmas Party. The atmosphere was quite beautiful, with red and green banners draping the ceilings, waiters serving bubbling drinks, and sparkling lights adorning the ceilings.

As I entered through the large doorway with Cormac McLaggen at my side, I immediately regretted going along with this plan.

"Wow," I heard someone whisper as I passed.

"You look so good, y/n," Cormac whispered into my ear. "And everyone knows it."

It was true, my appearance was striking, but not exactly in the way I'd liked. My dress was tight, clinging to my body in a way that felt just a little too much. Too seductive. I had wanted to impress people, but now, standing next to Cormac, I wasn't sure who I had really been trying to impress.

Together, the two of us moved through the crowded room, past groups of people in their finest dress attire. Each one of them turned to look as I passed, but my mind was elsewhere, scanning the room for a familiar face — one that wasn't here.

"This is boring," Cormac said suddenly, tugging at my hand. "Let's go outside."

"But we just got here," I quickly replied.

"Come on, y/n," the boy drawled with a smirk. "Scared of getting in trouble?"

"Never."

"Well come on, then."

A shiver crawled up my spine. I let him lead me down a dimly lit hallway. His hand drifted down my back, sending a feeling of discomfort through me. I could feel my heart racing.

Suddenly, he pushed me gently against the wall, leaning in close, his breath hot against my skin. "I'm going to treat you well," he whispered, his lips brushing my ear.

Before I could react, his lips crashed onto mine. It was all too fast, too overwhelming. My mind screamed at me to pull away, but something stopped me — the sight of white-blond hair walking by in the distance. Draco. Our eyes met for a fleeting moment, and I knew he had seen me.

This is my chance.

I deepened the kiss, wrapping my arms around Cormac's waist, though my mind was far from the moment. I could feel Draco's eyes on me before he disappeared down the hall.
