My alarm goes off noisily, causing me to groggily stumble out of bed. I flipped on the light and looked up at my Star Wars poster. Another dreadful day just waiting to happen. My name is Emily Sans and I currently attend West Side middle school. I'm 13 and in the eighth grade. I hate school because of the ridiculous people who are so full of themselves and nobody wants to be my friend. I guess it's a smart choice because I'm never involved in drama and I just mind my own business. There are two main people who I guess you could say "Rule the School".   There's Tabitha Sparks and Jackson Smith. All I know is that they've been dating for a while and I guess Jackson is one of the biggest douches on the planet. I find a pair of ripped jeans on the floor and pull them on. I look in my closet and find a Issues band T-shirt and pull that on as well. I grab a pair of socks and go upstairs into the bathroom. I brush my teeth and look at myself in the mirror. Am I ugly? Is this why people don't talk to me? I decided to skip brushing my hair and eating breakfast. I waited for the bus and sat alone, again.

I walked to my locker and put my things away. I was about to walk away when I saw a commotion being made on the other side of the hallway. I noticed Jackson hovering over somebody. When I looked a bit closer, I recognized that kid. In fact, I kind of had a crush on him. I think his name was.... Carter? I could tell that Jackson was being mean. Half of me wanted to be the hero but the other half of me just wanted to mind my own business, considering how much power Jackson had. Instead of helping, I walked in the opposite direction as quickly as possible.

The end of the day came surprisingly quick. I gathered my stuff and squeezed my way through the crowded halls. I made it outside and began the long walk home. When I got home I went straight to my room without even saying hi to my deadbeat mom. Earlier that day, I could clearly hear a group of popular girls talking about me. One girl looked at my shirt and said:

"Issues? It sure looks like she has some!" Then they giggled that stupid high-pitched giggle and walked away. I couldn't help it. I began to cry. I walked over to my bookshelf and pulled out a CD by The Police. I put it in my old CD player/Speaker and hit play. I walked over to my dresser and pulled out a razor blade. I slowly dragged it across my skin starting on my legs, up to my stomach and finally my arms. I heard my mom yelling from upstairs.

"Turn that shit off!" I hit the stop button and threw the razor on my bed. I pulled on a long sleeved sweatshirt and walked upstairs. I made my way towards the door.

"Where in the hell do you think you're going?"

"Out." I replied angrily as I slammed the door behind me.......
