Part 8: (Emily's POV)

I trudged through the rain and into the evening. My hair was was soaked and that sweatshirt wasn't so dry anymore. The cuts were burning but I didn't care. Through the rips and tears in my jeans I could see that the rain had caused blood from my cuts to run down my legs and slightly dampen my jeans. I didn't care about that either. Nothing could make me happy anymore and nothing could change my attitude. I was going where I was supposed to go and nobody could tell me different.

 As I walk, I quietly hum a Crown the Empire song. My Vans slosh in the water, causing my feet to get wet. But I am too numb to feel it. I am too numb to feel anything anymore. If only they would have paid attention. If only there was somebody that would help me. I feel like I'm calling into a black abyss that nobody can hear me in. I think about how shitty life is, and how I'm lost in the dark. I furiously kick the water in front of me. In less than an hour, I make it to my destination. I slowly walk up to the guard rail when I see a boy. That's when I notice him looking over the edge, with one foot at the base.....
