The week went by at a slow pace, but the group didn't seem to remember what they had planned for Friday. They continued to be happy in each other's company and comfort each other. They would meet after school, go to the local coffee shop together...and just ignore the impending doom of what was coming. It was Thursday, and their wits had finally come about them. The teachers didn't know what was going to happen. Their parents didn't know what was going to happen. The other students didn't know what was going to happen. Only they knew their upcoming fate.

Only they knew about the pact. The procedure. The plan. They slept restlessly because they knew. They knew that the next day, their lives would come to an end. Why would they be afraid? It was their choice. They knew that that Friday would be their very last day on earth.

Or would it?
