The fight that I had just witnessed blew my mind. I always thought of Emily as a broken, damaged girl. But I also think that it gave Jackson an understanding of what it felt like to be bullied and abused. I was super proud of her..in fact, we all were. We decided to all walk to our classes together, but Emily and Carter stayed behind. I thought that they were so cute together, but somehow it reminded me of Jackson. I didn't miss him, but I missed having somebody. For first hour, I had art. I hated art. No matter how hard I tried, I could never do anything right in that class. I couldn't draw to save my life, or anything of that sort. I guess my talents just lied in other places. I walked into the room, and the whole place reeked of paint thinner. It was so strong, I thought that I was going to get a headache or pass out.
I never realized it before, but I also had this class with Liam. The teacher said that today we could sit wherever we wanted, so I took that opportunity to sit next to him. Today, our assignment was to do a portrait of ourselves or anybody else. I tried to draw the shape of my face, but it ended up looking like a potato. I had no idea how long it had been before I gave up. Suddenly, a paper slid my way. It was a hand drawn and signed by Liam. It was a portrait of me, and the best one that I had ever seen. He didn't miss a single detail!
"Wow," I said in amazement. He smiled at me with one of the most beautiful smiles that I had ever seen.
"Liam, this is amazing!" I said in awe. He chuckled shyly.
"It's not that good." Why would Liam waste his time on a portrait of me?
After class, I carefully slid the drawing in a folder in my backpack. I decided that I would hang it up on my bedroom wall when I got home. Then a thought suddenly came to my mind.
Did Liam like me?
