Leander isn't nearly as small as I had hoped. The city branched out into thousands of street. And with big cities comes traffic. Ashton had made an appearance about 45 minutes ago, staring at me intently. At first I wasn't uncomfortable, but it was slowly growing to bother me.
He's trying to figure out how to break up with you without causing a scene. I decided maybe it was best not to stress over that. I looked around the room to see Luke and Calum staring at me, having a more concerned expression. Okay can't look there either.
I heard mumbling and whining coming from the sleeping quarters. Everyone watched the door as it opened and revealing a lazy-eyed Michael. He rubbed his eyes, honestly making him look like a little kid.
"Good morning, Mikey," He frowned, still asleep at heart and threw himself over-dramatically on the couch. "I'm tired." Everyone stared at Michael. "Seriously?" Luke asked bewildered. I'd have to agree with Luke, he could possibly be tired. "You do realize you slept 16 hours right?" Michael lazily looked at me. "That's 8 hour's too short."
Calum scoffed at looked out the traffic that seemed endless outside the bus. "How long have we been in a jam?" Michael, barely, put together a coherent sentence, gazing outside. "About 4 hours." Everyone turned towards me. "How long have you been up?"
I shrugged, "You never slept?" I heard Ashton's breath hitch. "Like at all?" I nodded, starting to zone out of this conversation. Calum leaned into my view. I saw his mouth moving, but the words weren't forming in my head.
I watched him closely, trying to understand him. Suddenly, exhaustion hit me hard. I struggled to keep my eyes open. Now I could see Michael's concerned expression from the couch. He was speaking, but my gaze trailed from him to the blurry cars outside.
A buzzing sound slowly grew louder and louder in my ear. It was almost unbearable. I placed a hand on the side of my head, hoping that would stop it. I felt movement around me, but my eyes wouldn't travel to see what it was. My vision slowly faded into blackness and finally, silence fill my head.
---
"She's still not awake." I heard Michael familiarly worried voice. Someone was pacing, probably Luke. "We can't get her to a hospital. Oh my go-, What if she's dying! Is she dead?" Calum's concern caught me off guard.
"Look Ashton, Michael. Calum and I need to tell you something." I felt the hand on my arm leave, and a cold air filled the vacancy. I tried to open my eyes, but I didn't have the strength. "See, the reason Ivy asked to borrw-."
Suddenly, the strength I didn't have appeared. I opened my eyes and quickly sat up. The boys heads all snapped towards me. Ashton knelt down beside me, grabbing my hand. The unexpected energy I had just gain faded as quick as it came. Ashton wrapped an arm around me, almost as if he sensed my sudden weakness.
"Ivy, what the fuck happened." Michael was wide awake now, I could see worry lines across his face. I looked at him as I tried to come up with an answer. I fumbled with words that I didn't have. "Honestly Mikey, I don't know." His expression softened as he realized I had the same questions that he did.
"Ivy..." Calum looked at me, I could tell he wanted to ask something he knew was going to make me uncomfortable. "Have you," He clear his throat, nervously messing with his hair. "Have you eaten?" I felt everyone's eyes look towards my stomach.
He couldn't possibly know. You stupid bitch, you can't keep anything a secret. He doesn't know. You're pathetic, dragging them into your life over and over again. He. Doesn't. Know.
I could feel the suspicion pouring off of the boys, encouraged by my silence. "I've been eating guys, for sure." Michael took a quick glance at my torso, and then I watched as his eyes took in the sight of my long sleeves. Shit.
"Actually, you know what," I frantically tried to distract him. "I think I didn't eat yesterday. Just busy." Ashton seemed to loosen up, almost relieved at the fact that I had an explanation for them. Michael still looked at my arms. Subconsciously I crossed my arms in a defensive manner.
He torn his eyes away from me, pain edged into his face. I slowly turned my attention outside. The bus was parked in front of a lavish hotel. "Why are we at a hotel?" I desperately pleaded to myself that they would get distracted by something , anything that wasn't me.
Calum and Michael looked out the window, almost simultaneously, and Luke was already out the door by the end of my question. Michael and Calum followed leaving Ashton and I behind. I didn't move.
I was too scared that if I did, Ashton would see how weak I really was. Just get the fuck up, stop being such a little bitch. Ashton stood up taking me with him, thank god. He held his arms tightly around my waist, turning me to face him.
"You have no idea how worried I was," I nodded, mumbling a quiet 'sorry.' He shook his head pulling me into a tight and reassuring hug. "Just don't ever put me in a situation like that again. Don't put off eating for working. Okay?" I looked up at him a forced a smile.
He smiled back and picked me up bridal style, carrying me out of the bus. You're already crushing him. Normally this would bother me more than it is right now, but the fact that it was either this or the possibility of my legs giving out, I'd take this.
He followed behind Luke and Calum walked beside him. Jokes and laughter flowing between them. Michael was far ahead from us, nose buried into his phone. Several of the staff that manage the public affairs of the boys were in the hallway as well, discussing security and protocol. I refocused on Ashton and his happiness.
One day, you're going to take all of the happiness out of him. I didn't want to believe that. But part of me knew that. Deep down, I am no good for Ashton, and it's just a matter of time before he realizes it.
He looked down, his captivating hazel eyes lighting up my soul once again. Michael place a key card in Ashton mouth and leaned in, whispering something to him. Honestly, I didn't care to hear. I just cared that I was with Ash, here and now. Michael handed Luke and Calum each a card as well. Everyone got a room? What about me? Oh wait...
Ashton looked down at me, shaking his head slightly to tell me to grab his the card. I took it out of his mouth and stuck the card into the door when Ashton leaned me down. His pushed the door open and walked into the room, kicking it closed behind him.
He walked to the bed and laid me in it. He turned the light on, revealing the beautiful room we were in. "Wow they really splurged on this one didn't they?" He snickered at my smart ass comment. I watched him walk to the end of the bed and lay himself out, taking up much of my feet room.
I lightly tapped him with my feet, getting his attention. He turned his head, sticking his tongue out at me. "Don't poke your tongue at me mister," I reached out, attempting to tap his nose with my toe, but missing and poking him in the eye. He shot up, covering his eye. "Ow, damn Ivy, I was just messing with you." I crawled over to his side of the bed. "Oh my god, Ash, I'm so sorry." He continued to cover his eye, pouting slightly.
"You know what would make it feel better?" I shook my head, waiting for his answer. "A kiss." I pulled myself into his lap, moving his hand away from his face. I leaned in to give him a kiss, stopping get centimeters short.
He opened his eyes and looked at me. "No kiss?" I shook my head, playfully tapping his nose. "You covered the wrong eye, babe." He gasped, half laughing at himself. "I did not, now come here, I demand a kiss." I pushed myself off his lap, he attempted to grab ahold of me, missing and tumbling towards the floor. I fought the urge to giggle, darting across the room.
He returned to his feet and chased after me, backing me into a corner. "I got you now Miss Paige, now give me a kiss and you can be on your way." I narrowed my eyes, playfully crossing my arms. "Try me, Fletcher."
He smiled, reaching out to grab my arm. As soon as the gap was big enough, i dove through it, landing on the bed and scrambling off the other side. The only place to escape to was the door that led outside. I made me way towards it, flinging the door open. Two large arms stopped me from making my escape, wrapping around my waist and pulling me off the ground.
I looked back to see Ashton triumphantly smiling at me, walking out the door I nearly made my way out of. He kissed the side of my cheek as he walked towards the railing of the balcony. He lowered my to where my feet were touching the ground, still securely wrapped in his arms. I look at the light of Leander. IT was a busy little city to say the least, but even with all the lights and commotion happening below us, the night's stars were beautifully visible.
"You;re beautiful." Ashton's voice was soft in my ear. I smiled slightly at his statement. Something about his presence just seems to take all the bad vibes away. "So I've heard," I could feel the eye roll he gave me from a mile away.
"You've been so happy recently." I looked at him, slightly confused. "I mean, usually, I see you upset over things you shouldn't be. You haven't been sad when you woke up." I nodded, he was half right. I haven't been sad when I woke up, but i most definitely am not happy as happy as he sees.
We sat in silence for a while. His words running through my head. I half wished he was right. He's doesn't actually care. I' let those words brush off me, it's time to let myself be happy. Let me truly be what he sees.
I felt Ashton's fingers interlace mine, pulling me towards the door. "We have a big day tomorrow." I nodded, suddenly feeling exhausted. He guided my towards the bed, sliding the door close once we were inside. I sensed the bed near me and let myself fall into it.
His presence soon join me, a loud sigh following after the long minute or so of silence . "Ivy Paige Clifford, I love you so much, words don't do justice." I smiled to myself, slowly interlacing one of my hands in his. He took his other hand to pull me closer and planted a kiss on the side of my head. "I hope you sleep well princess." I felt and genuine smile appear on my face.
"I will as long as I am with you."
