"Maybe I can just find another job, maybe working at the mall or something?" I said loudly so that Ali could hear me clearly.

As I maneuvered quickly around the kitchen, making a quick breakfast for myself before I went job hunting, Ali was supposed to be in the living room fixing Zarina's hair. After I had finished eating the last bite of my bagel I turned around the small opening that led into the living room.

"Hey Ali I h-,".

All of a sudden I had became speechless while I stared into his eyes. He looked nervous when he saw me, the bouquet of roses I had spotted in his hand were now drooping towards the floor. Ali grabbed Zarina's hand then slowly walked up to me.

"I'm gonna take Zarina with me, okay?" She whispered in my ear.

I nodded lightly, still staring at Jashaun. I could hear the soft footsteps of Ali and Zarina walking away, and then the sound of a door opening and closing signaling that they had left. Instantly silence took over.

"H-how did you know I came back?" I asked suspiciously.

"Why did you leave without telling me?" He asked, purposely leaving my question unanswered.

"Well I lost my job so what was the point of me staying?" I shrugged.

"Did you forget that I was there?".

"And? I was supposed to stay miserable in Syracuse because of you?" I questioned.

He laughed, but not a humorous laugh; it was more of an angered laugh.

"Let me guess, you were miserable because of me?".

I glared at him like he was the most stupidest person I had ever met. "And you really had to ask? Jashaun you've made me so miserable. I hated living in Syracuse with you, and I hated the fact that you made me go there,".

He scoffed. "Well I didn't twist your arm Eva, I didn't make you come to Syracuse with me. I asked you, and you said yes,".

"I moved to Syracuse because I loved you," I retorted.

"Loved?".

"Yes, Loved," I stated.

"So you don't love me now?" He questioned.

I rolled my eyes as I walked around him, coming close to the door.

"I gotta go,".

"I came here to tell you, that I was thinking about.....,".

He stopped his sentence and fumbled with the bouquet of flowers in his hands.

"Thinking about what?" I asked anxiously, suddenly wanting to know what he was so nervous about telling me.

"Well I was thinking about asking you if you would maybe marry me,".

"Jashaun. We need to talk about some things first, we're going through alot right now but I do wanna marry yo-,".

"Woah, I wasn't proposing, I said I was thinking about it," He said with a nervous chuckle.

"Y-you're not proposing?" I asked in astonishment, staring blankly at the closed door in front of me.

"Eva, I wanna marry you but not right now," He admitted.

"We've been together for two and a half years, and you still haven't asked me to marry you. Cameron was right," I retorted as tears of sadness rolled down my cheeks.

"Cameron? Stop comparing me to him! I'll never be Cameron!" He exclaimed angrily.

"I know, but sometimes I wish," I mumbled.

"If you like Cameron so much then go be with him!".

"I can't be with Cameron!" I yelled back.

"Why!".

"Because I'm in love with you, and I'm having your baby,".

He didn't yell at me, or embrace me in a warm and encouraging hug. He just stood there looking dumbfounded. Then finally he opened his mouth, but no words came out.
