We made a quick stop at home to drop off Harleys new pets. She had a long talk with some of the goons about the proper way to care for them. When I was finally able to pull her away I wasted no time pushing her out the door.
"But." She said as she tried to resist.
"No but were leaving. J made plans." I told her.
"Really? What we doing?" She asked in excitement.
"I don't know. He's waiting in the limo." I told her.
"Ohhhh the limo, how fancy." She replied.
I could not help but smile at her. She was always so happy with small fits of anger here and there. Unlike me who was just angry all the time with little hints of happiness.
"When we got to the limo Frost stood outside it. When we got closer he opened the door for us. We hopped inside to see a smiling Joker. He held two glasses of champagne that he handed off to us the second our assess hit the seats.
"Thanks Puddin." She said as she took hers drunk it in one sip then jumped up onto his lap.
"Get ova here." She said as she grabbed my hand and pulled me closer. Stretching out her legs so they rested on us both.
"So were we goin?" She asked as she rubbed the back of his neck.
"I'm taken you out dancing." He told her.
"Yeah were goin clubbing." She squealed in excitement.
She really did love dancing. She was a wild one especially when there was sexy music involved.
"You ruined the surprise." I said to J.
"You know I can't keep things from my girls." He responded.
There wasn't much more talking on the way there. Mostly kissing and touching. The limo finally came to a stop in front of a fancy ass building in the middle of the most run down, corrupt part of Gotham. Frost opened the door and the three of us stepped out arms, in arms. We walked up to the big steel door. J knocked at it and a little eye slot opened reveling a set of brown eyes.
"Password?" The man asked.
J started laughing hysterically then quickly shoved his gun threw the hole shooting the guy in the face. Harley started laughing along with him. I was just left standing there wondering how were gonna get in. A few seconds later another set of eyes appeared.
"Hey Joker." The guys behind the door said.
Everything was silent before the doors opened.
"Sorry for the misunderstanding." The man said as he shaped his fingers.
Two other men came over and moved the body.
"Come on in." The man said.
J and Harlz moved to step in but I held them back. I looked at the huge puddle of blood that I would not be able to step over.
"Can you put something down? I don't want to get blood on my shoes." I told him.
He looked around for something but when he could not find anything he settled for his jacket.
"Thanks." I said as I lightly slapped his face then stepped inside.
We walked through a small corridor past a few closed doors before we got to the end of the hall. The man who was standing there hit the door twice before that one opened up. The music was so loud I could feel the base threw the floor. I could not help but wonder how I had not heard it outside that door. We stepped in at the place was impressive. The floor seemed to be reflective as I could not only see myself in it but all the crystals that hung from the room. They shimmered all over the room like little stars. The furniture was silver and all the walls were gold.
"So pretty." Harlz said as she looked around.
She always did like shinny things. Her eyes shined almost as bright as diamonds every time she looked upon them.
"There's a booth waiting for you in the back." The man said to us.
J nodded to him and then he ushered us to the back. As we walked I noticed some familiar faces. That's when I noticed that everyone in this club was like us. Criminals, killers, crocks, all around crazy people. When we reached our booth we sat down had some drinks and food that just kept coming. J must have set this all up for Harley which made me happy that he was thinking this much about making her happy. I pulled my eyes from him to her who was now dancing on our table. She was having a blast.
"I love it here." She said as she plopped down next to him and took another shot.
"It is nice to be somewhere where we just blend in." J said.
"Ah....huh." Harlz mumbled.
"What about you Pumpkin? You havin fun?" She asked me.
"The food is descent." I answered.
"Sweet Pea you need to lighten up, have some fun." J hissed at me.
"Harlz is having enough fun for the both of us." I answered.
"Ohh come on dance with me." She said as she grabbed my hand.
"I'm not dancing on the table with you." I told her.
"You don't have to we are gonna dance on the stage." She said as she pointed to the runway like stage in the middle of the room.
"I really don't want to." I told her.
"But you really do." She said as she pulled me up.
"A little help here J?" I asked him.
"No." He answered. "You two go have fun, I have something I have to take care of." He said to us.
"But it's my birthday." Harley wined.
"It won't take long, plus you have Sweet Pea to keep you company." He said to her.
"Whatever." She responded and stormed off.
"She's upset." I said to him. "You know how sensitive she can be."
"I know but this won't take long. Keep her busy, I'll be back soon." He said to me before standing up planting a kiss on my lips and walking off.
"You owe me?" I yelled off after him.
He waved his hand at me then disappeared in a side room.
I quickly made my way over to Harlz who was sulking at the bar. I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. I placed a few kisses along her neck. It seemed to work and she relaxed under my touch but only for a second.
"Hey no, don't you do that. I'm made you can't just come over here and kiss my neck and think its gonna make it all better!" She yelled at me.
"Hey don't be that way. I'm not the one you're mad at." I reminded her.
"I'm sorry, your right." She told me as she pulled me in for a hug.
"It's just, it's my birthday. Why can't he just take one night off?" She asked.
"You know what happens when someone like him takes a night off?" I asked her.
And she simply shook her head no.
"Someone else takes his place. And it may only be for a night but it's enough to spread doubt, enough to spread ideas." I told her.
"I guess you're right." She answered.
"I know, I'm always right. Now let's go dance." I told her.
She smiled and grabbed my hand pulling me over to the weirdly slim stage. She wrapped her arms around me holding me close as we started moving to the beat.
"Well looks who's finally having fun." She said almost the second I smiled at her.
"I have fun all the time." I replied.
"Eatin people's souls does not count as fun." She told me causing me to laugh.
