When I'm at school I usually use fiddle toys to distract me from my urges. However, at home it's different; I don't really use my fiddle toys much.
Here are some things I do to distract me when I have an urge at home:
- Sit with someone. [I don't tell them I have an urge I'll just sit with them and if I do pull they'll tell me to stop.]
- Walk. [Sometimes if I have a really bad episode I'll go for a walk with my dog.]
- Tape my fingers, or put moisturiser on them. [this is quite helpful but if I'm doing homework or on the I pad etc. the things on my fingers can be annoying.]
- Watch youtube videos or anime or just the things I like to do. [this is usually to calm myself down if I get upset with my pulling.]
