"Kill him!" A very impatient and angry Dr. Gultz lurks behind me. "Use your powers to end him!"
"Bu-but I-I..." Tears stream down my face. I can't kill a person. I won't kill a person.
"Do it! Now!" Dr. Gultz yells at me. I can feel how angry he is by how he transfers his energy strongly through the Apple to me. I am doing everything in my power to fight it, but its hold on me is too strong.
The artifact gives me the power to manipulate the energy around me, as well as the energy around another being. I already know that I could easily kill the person in front of me by transferring my energy into his heart. The power would be far too great for the organ to handle, thus, it would stop instantly.
Dr. Gultz forces me to put my hand up to the man's chest. Fear is spread across his face. He knows his fate. He knows he will die. I place my palm onto his muscular chest. His physique shows that he is human and was probably a slave. I stare deeply into his fearful eyes.
"I'm sorry," I whisper as another tear falls down my cheek. I send a surge of energy to his heart. His fearful eyes drain of their life. The man is dead in an instant, and all because of me. I killed him.
"Now, was that so hard?" the doctor expresses in a disappointed tone. I don't bother to answer. I simply stare blankly at the poor human's lifeless face. His glossy eyes are fixed to the side. He will never breathe another breath, he will never see the his family again. I diminished any ounce of hope that lied within him. A wave of anger consumes me and I act on it.
I swiftly put my arms in the air and send a surge of energy in his direction. His reactions are quick, too quick. He sticks the Apple in front of him to block the energy from touching him. The Apple absorbs the energy and I feel it. My body collapses to the floor. My breath is knocked from my lungs. I lie on the floor, motionless as Dr. Gultz takes a step toward my shocked body.
"You really shouldn't have done that." I stare up at the smirk on his face.
After a few minutes of recovering, he has given me a command to go back home. I am forced to obey due to his hold on the Apple.
Home looks identical to how it was when I departed. At any other moment in time I would've wished to see it, but I know Dr. Gultz is up to something. He wants me to understand the power he has over me. I can feel the presence of my Apple lingering. Therefore, I know the doctor is following behind me.
I spot only one worker out in the field, and she too, spots me. Her actions stop as she looks to my exhausted face.
"Daughter?" She runs to me and pulls me into the most comforting hug while droplets of tears form in her eyes. "I've missed you so much, but I must ask, what are you doing here?"
"Mother, you need to get away from me as fast as possible. Please!" I beg. Tears appear in my eyes.
"Why, sweetheart? What's wrong?" She grasps the sides of my arms, trying to comfort me. Then, I feel the power surge through me. The gold markings of my Apple appear on my forearms. My shaky hand tries to fight it's power, but Dr. Gultz is determined to make this happen. I can feel it. He is pushing this one harder than he ever has and I'm losing my fight against him. He wants me to pay.
"No! No! No!" I shout as I try to fight the power.
"Wh-What?" Mother's tone is shocked as her eyes stare at my glowing arms. She doesn't know what I've become. Dr. Gultz has hidden me from the world. I catch a glimpse of Brother coming out of Master's house in the distance.
