I was cleaning my bedroom and clearing out my junk drawers when I found an old portable CD player. I decided to test it out since I could picture it being quite useful for my car ride to Michigan over this holiday break if I figured out how to use it.
I feel like one of those little kids everyone hates who don't know anything about technology older than touch screen devices because I was pretty lost on how to use it; my first music-player was a 3rd-generation iPod nano. So I naturally used a resource with practically infinite knowledge to guide me on this noble quest - Google.
For some strange reason, this particular model of CD player I have is apparently $40+ value used and $300 value when brand new. W h a t. Apparently because it's car-compatible, whatever that means (I think that means that somehow, if you did the right stuff, you could hook it up to your car speakers), it boosts its value. I have no idea how to do that but I don't really need to either.
I'm not gonna sell it because I could picture myself actually using the device, but it's shocking how old stuff has so much value sometimes.
Hmm... I wonder how much my grandma's nose hairs might catch on the black market... hyuk hyuk hyuk.
I can't wait to see my Michigan family soon. Issue is I'll be going empty-handed for the holidays unless I get my hands on some cash soon...
