A few weeks passed by, and all was well. Jumelle had successfully managed to get Alec to clean up his act and hunt successfully. He was now learning to sense where the animals were and how far away, and it was going swimmingly.
Jane, however, was not so cooperative. Jumelle tried to teach her to hunt animals, but she was extremely resistant. She eventually confessed that she thought she wouldn't be able to control herself because she'd been feeding on humans for so long. But Jumelle told her that Alec was getting used to the idea, and she seemed more open to practising. She wouldn't let anybody but me or Alec take her out to hunt, and she rarely talked. She seemed to be getting awfully comfortable around Rosalie, though, which surprised Jumelle. Rosalie was one of the Cullens that hated the Volturi the most, so it was quite unnatural to see her befriend the vampire whom we once feared the most.

"Are you ready to leave yet?" Alice asked excitedly. She had a surprise for Alec and Jumelle, and Jumelle was pretty sure she had a hint as to what it was, thanks to her parents. She glanced in Bella's direction, and Bella gave her a quick wink.
"Yeah, we're ready." Jumelle grinned broadly at Alice, and she tugged on her's and Alec's sleeves.
"Then hurry up!" she whined. "We don't have all night!"
Jumelle chuckled and glanced up at Alec. His eyes were still tinged with crimson, but she ignored that. He grinned down at his mate and she beamed back, grasping his hand quickly. Alice dragged the two outside before releasing us and skipping into the forest. Jumelle looked to Alec, who shrugged.
They followed Jumelle's crazed aunt for a few minutes before they came across a pathway Jumelle had never seen in her life. And she was half vampire, so she remembered everything.
"Uh ... Alice?" Jumelle called. Alice turned around, tilting her head with a questioning expression. Jumelle suddenly shook her head. "I know exactly what you've done."
Alice pouted. "I know. Your mother is absolutely no fun at all."
Jumelle turned to Alec. "It's a--"
"HUSH CHILD!" Alice shouted as she sped over to Jumelle and clamped her niece's mouth shut. "Just because you and your mother hate surprises it doesn't mean your boyfriend here doesn't. He might enjoy them."
Alice winked at Alec, leaving him slightly confused. Jumelle sighed and tugged him along the pathway.
"Welcome home!"
Alec's jaw dropped at the sight of a two-storey house in the middle of the woods. Jumelle had to admit, she was quite surprised herself.
"How long did this take you, Alice?" Jumelle asked in awe. "Mom and Dad's is only a tiny little cottage!"
"Yeah, well ..." Alice trailed off, shrugging. "It took us a while. We got to work as soon as I saw ... well, you'll know soon enough." She grinned, making Jumelle utterly curious. "Go in!"
She ushered the mates inside the house and slammed the door shut behind them. Jumelle watched out the window as she skipped off into the distance.
Jumelle turned back to Alec, who was looking around at everything. He hadn't spoken upon the arrival to the house, and Jumelle was begging for him to tell her what he thought of it. Alice must've made sure this house was perfect for us, especially since Bella and Edward's ...
