Chapter 23

Chapter 23 (Nathaniel's P.O.V)

I feel sick, horrible, a douche.

Anything bad you name it.

Why?

Because of the way I treated Veronica.

I'm mad at my self and at Drew.

If only I could go back in time, but obviously that's not possible.

I knew the way people treated her at school.

Yet I chose to ignore it.

The way her eyes would plead us for some type of reaction but Drew and I would either ignore her or join everyone else.

Now she's basically in her death bed.

(Drew's P.O.V)

It's been a week that Veronica's been in a coma.

None of us won't leave her side.

Daniel is taking it hard.

The kid looks worn out.

I mean we all look similar but Daniel looks the worst out of all of us.

He won't eat, nor talk.

His face has been red this whole entire week.

It's not healthy for him I mean c'mon the kid is only 6.

I was currently sitting by Veronica.

My hand in hers.

"Please wake up" I whispered to her, looking at her pale reflection.

"God I'm so sorry" I said sniffling.

"Please baby wake up" I paused as a few tears fell from my face.

"I know you probably can't hear me but I miss you" I whispered.

" I want to see you open those beautiful pale green eyes. I wanna feel your plump lips on mine" I said with my head now on the bed.

"Please wake up, your brother is taking it so hard" I sniffled.

"He won't leave, he won't eat, it's amazing that the boys managed to get him to the cafeteria here at the hospital" I said smiling through my tears.

"The doctor says you have something very different" I said.

"I know what you are, you can do amazing things" I said slightly smiling.

"But there's one thing that Daniel won't tell us" I said shaking my head.

"He makes all of us leave the room and only let's the doctor replace your bandages on your back" I said now confused.

"Please wake up" I said with tears streaming down my face.

I looked at her steady heart beat. she looked dead.

Suddenly her heart rate started to increase.

And it started to beep rapidly.

"No please Veronica no" I said panicking.

I pressed the red button and soon enough nurses came running into the room.

When they saw what was going on they called in the doctor.

He came running in.

Then it completely stopped and went into a straight line.

"NO!" I yelled my voice cracking as I tried pushing the nurses out of my way.

"I have a code red! patient going into Cardiac-arrest!" he said as some nurses brought in the reviver.

A male nurse came up to me "son I'm going to have to ask you to leave" he said pushing me out.

"No I have to stay with her!" started to push him and trying to get to Veronica.

"Clear!" the doctor said pressing the metal things to Veronica's chest.

"No Veronica wake up please! let me go!" I said pushing around the nurses holding me back.

The guys came back.

Shit.

"Bump it up to 250!" the doctor yelled to the nurse.

"What the hell is going on" Ashton said pushing his way.

"No, no, no VERONICA!" he started to yell.

"SISTER!" Daniels screams where the loudest.

"NO THATS MY SISTER NO PLEASE!" Daniel said yelling.

"Clear!" Veronica's body was not responding.

The beep was still in a straight line.

"Nurse bump it up to 350!" the doctor yelled.

"But sir that's way to dangerous" she said with a worried expression.

"Do it!" he yelled wiping the sweat off his face.

"CLEAR!" her body didn't respond.

"NO!!" Daniel yelled.

"LET GO OF ME!" Ashton yelled.

"THATS MY SISTER DAMN IT, VERONICA, YOU CANT DO THIS PLEASE!" Ashton screeched.

I stood their frozen.

"VI VI!!!" Daniel yelled through tears.

The doctor pulled off his mask and sighed with a sad expression.

"Time of death" he said looking at his watch.

"10:42 am" he said going to a folder and writing it down.

"I'm sorry boys" he said taking off his gloves and giving us each a squeeze on the shoulder.

The nurse pulled the white covers over her face and wrote a few more things in the folder.

Daniel collapsed on the floor sobbing.

Ashton walked out hysterically crying.
While me and Nathaniel just stood their frozen in place.

Tears slowly streaming down our faces as the nurses retreated from the room.

"no" Daniel whispered curled up in a ball crying.

"She's gone" Nathaniel said looking at her body on the bed.

I fell to my knees as tears blurred my vision.

And then everything went black.
