Silence In The Room

I decided to leave their secret room. Aasahan ko nang bukas na bukas, may bagong parusa na naman akong kakaharapin. Knowing them, it's seems impossible for them to overlook the mistake someone has made.

I remember the conversation Calter and his friends had when I was hiding in the toilet room, eavesdropping. May pinagtatalunan silang drag racing event ngayong gabi.

"Leave the steering wheel to me, I have something for you to research," I said to Alice when I open the door in the driver seat and seeing her sitting pretty on it.

Uwian na ngayon.

She raise her brows at me but still stand up, obeying me. I then immediately get inside the driver seat and wait for her to have her way to the shotgun seat.

"Patingin nga ng driving skills mo, Alora!" hamon ni Jinx na nasa likuran. Niyakap pa niya ang sandalan ng upuan ko at sinilip ang mukha ko.

Inismiran ko siya kaya umupo na rin siya nang maayos.

"I'm sure she's not a terrible driver, unlike you," Megan teased her.

And their nonsense argument starts on. Nilingon ko si Alice pagkatapos kong paandarin ang kotse paalis.

"Alamin mo kung may drag racing bang magaganap ngayong gabi. I'm sure mayroon kaya hanapin mo. Then I want you to find me a sportbike right away," I ordered.

Sinabi niya sa akin na assistant ko siya at sabihin ko lang kung anong kailangan ko. Ito na 'yon.

Lumakas ang sigawan ng dalawa sa likuran kaya mariing pumikit si Alice at lumingon na sa backseat. "Both of you, get out of the car if you don't wanna shut your mouth!" She had enough.

Tumahimik naman kaagad ang dalawa kaya umayos na siya ng upo. Lumingon siya sa akin. "Can you be more certain, Alora?" she asked calmly.

"There's a drag racing event that Calter and his friends are about to attend. Locate that. Also, I heard Calter had a Ducati sportbike sold in a dealership. Locate that too."

Hindi na siya nagsalita pa. Kinuha na lang niya ang kaniyang laptop at tinrabaho na ang pinapagawa ko.

Let's see how impressive her skills are. Sinabi sa akin ni Uncle na magaling siya about IT stuffs dahil parehong computer specialist ang mga magulang niya. Usually, pino-post ang announcement no'n sa social media kaya madali niya lang iyon mahahanap. If ever she fails, she should quit this job. I don't need someone who's stupid to do things I want them to do.

Kalaunan, nasa kahabaan na kami ng national road.

"Turn right," Alice said. May sinusundan siyang map sa kaniyang laptop. "Going to Katipunan Avenue," she added.

Ginawa ko naman ang sinabi niya. Tinuturo niya sa akin kung saan kami dapat lumiko o huminto... tulad na lang ngayon. Huminto kami sa tapat ng isang Ducati shop.

Nagsibabaan kami sa sasakyan. Lumakad kami papasok roon kahit walang alam sina Jinx at Megan kung bakit kami nandito.

Tumakbo si Jinx papalapit sa shop. "Oh my ghad! Look, Alice! Bibili ba tayo rito?" Tinuro niya ang isang motor sa loob na natatanaw niya dito sa labas dahil salamin ang pader ng shop. "Iyan ang gusto ko, Alice! Whoa!" The excitement is very visible in her face and voice.

Hindi siya pinansin ni Alice dahil nagtuloy-tuloy ito papasok sa shop. Inakbayan naman siya ni Megan at tinangay na paalis sa glass wall.

A salesman greeted us at the entrance in his lively voice with a welcoming smile.
