Chapter 6- Thank You Gladion

A\N  I can't but get excited every-time I see someone encounter Gladion in a Pokemon Sun\Moon walk through. It inspires me to write and it's also interesting to see how they react to Gladion. At the moment I'm watching AbdallahSmash, Swimmingbird , TheNationalDex, and TheJwittz play Pokemon Sun\Moon on youtube. AbdallahSmash has already finished the game but everyone else is barely on Akala island. Watching walkthrough also helps me get the story straight and helps me remember what happens.

Gladion stood confidently behind Null, "Try your best. You won't beat me and Null", Gladion taunted. The bully fell for the taunt, " I'll show you. Salandit use Ember!" he said. The Salandit attacked with an ember, Null jumped out of the way, "Null Tackle it" Gladion told it. Null reared up on its hind legs and charged. It tackled Salandit before it had a chance to react. Null sure has is fast. "Er get back up Salandit!" the bully ordered aggressively. The Salandit struggled to get back up, but got up eventually. You saw Gladion's eyes dart to Eevee, " Null attack the Gumshoos" he told it. Null roared and ran after the Gumshoos. The Gumshoos was startled and retreated, "Go get Eevee" he said looking at you "I got your back". You nodded and ran up to Eevee. You held it in your arms, "Eevee are you ok?" you asked. Eevee looked at you. It was scared and hurt. "Gumshoos don't be a Torchichicken get them!" the first bully said. Gumshoos snarled and ran back to get you. "Null don't let Gumshoos get any closer", Gladion said. Null charged at Gumshoos and knocked it off its feet. "Don't forget about Salandit. Now Smokescreen!" the second bully said. The field was covered in a smoke screen. You couldn't see. You held Eevee closer to your body to protect it. "Null be careful", you could hear Gladion say. Some sort of fight could be heard coming from the smoke. You weren't sure if Null was winning or not. You closed your eyes and covered Eevee best you could. You felt like time seemed to slow down. You wanted to get out of there as quick as possible.

"You can open your eyes now", Gladion said. You opened your eyes to see Gladion and Null standing next to you. It startled you a bit. Gladion stretched out his hand and helped you to your feet, "Let's get Eevee to the Pokemon Center" he said gently. You were a bit speechless. He was close and was being so kind. He didn't have to help you. You looked around and the bullies were off running down route 8. I guess Null really taught them a lesson. Gladion escorted you and Eevee to the Pokemon center. Something about him seemed defensive. Maybe he was trying to make sure nothing else was going to happen. You gave Eevee to Nurse Joy and sat down anxiously. As you waited for Eevee, Gladion was right there with you. He didn't say anything, but he kept looking at you. "Um...thank you for saving Eevee", you told him. He was silent for a second. You could barely make out a small blush on his face, "You're welcome" he said. Nothing else was said until Nurse Joy came out. Eevee jumped into your arms. You saw its ear wrapped in a bandage, "Eevee you're alright. I'm so happy" you said holding Eevee. Eevee was happy to see you. You turned to say something to Gladion but he was practically out the door. Eevee jumped out of your arms and ran up to him. Gladion stopped and looked down at Eevee. You saw him smile but only for a second. He turned to looked at you, as if to tell you something. A bit nervous you walked up to him. Eevee jumped up and down around you two. Gladion looked away for a moment but then reached for something in his pocket. He handed the object to you," This is for Eevee. But only if you want it to evolve" he said putting a stone in your hand. You looked at it. It was a thunderstone. He's already saved you but now he's giving you a stone for Eevee? Maybe he's not as bad as you thought. He has to be a good person, even if he runs around with team skull. You've made up your mind. You want to be friends with him. He's not a bad person at all. But his motives are a bit questionable. You put the stone away. Perhaps it could come in handy later.

Gadion walked you back to you room. Once you opened the door, all your Pokemon seemed to tackle you. You smiled, "Sorry I took so long" you said. You got back on your feet and went into the room to gather all your belongings. Once you came back out, Gladion was waiting for you. Eevee ran up to him, happy. Gladion knelt down and gave Eevee a pat on its head. You wondered why he was waiting for you. Gladion stood up and looked you in the eyes. For some reason, his eyes didn't seem so intimidating. You blushed a bit,"Did you need anything?" you asked. He shook his head,"No...I just wanted to see you back to Royal Avenue. If that's ok" he said. You were surprised. He wanted to walk with you back to Royal Avenue. Why? Is he going that way too? Could he possibly want to be your friend? "Um sure but I have to finish my next trial in the Lush Jungle. I'd like it if you came with me, maybe for support", you said your heart nearly pounding. It wasn't often you get this flustered, but he was something else. Gladion thought about your offer for a minute, "Sure I'll go with you" he agreed. Something inside you wanted to jump for joy, but you kept yourself from doing so. You smiled, "Cool so let's go then" you said.

You and Gladion made your way to the Lush Jungle. The whole area was shaded by trees and everything was green. "So you finally made it", a girl said. You both turned around to see Mallow. She smiled warmly, "Welcome to my trial. I hope you like cooking because we're going to make something special" she said. Mallow looked at Gladion," Are you a trial goer too?" she asked. Gladion looked away,"No just...a friend" he said. Friend? He called you a friend. You blushed, "Friend support huh? Well you're welcome to cheer (Y\N) on" she told him. You and Gladion made eye contact for a second ,"Oh I see what's going on" Mallow smiled wide "Are you two on a date?" she asked. Your whole face turned red," No it's not like that. He's just a friend" you quickly blurted out. Gladion's face was also just as red. Mallow giggled, "Friend support it is. Wink Wink" she said. Eevee cried joyfully as to be giggling with Mallow, "Anyways, for my trial I need you to gather these items. You can find them here in the Jungle. Once you're done meet me back here" Mallow said handing you a list. There were 5 items. "You two better getting looking ", she teased winking. Gladion seemed to be a little annoyed with her and took off walking in a hurry. You quickly caught up with him and you both walked deeper into the jungle.
