Chapter 10- Konikoni City and the Kahuna

A\N  The next chapter will take place in Hano Beach. I'd be happy to take some suggestions on what possibly could happen,so comment down how if you have an idea. But keep it PG people, this is Pokemon lol.

You fell asleep in the chair for a while. You guess this whole thing made you tired. You were woken up later by Eevee, who seemed fairly happy. "What is it Eevee?" you asked it. Eevee ran over and jumped on the bed where Gladion was. You stood up. Was he finally going to wake up? You walked closer and watched as Eevee tried waking him up. It wasn't long until you were able to get a glimpse of his emerald eyes, "(Y\N)....where are we?" he asked you. You sat on the edge of the bed, "A police station off the exit of Diglett Cave" you told him "I rushed you in here as quick as I could". Gladion took a look around the small room, "You're not hurt?" he asked. You shook your head, "Not a scratch" you told him. Gladion sat up, a bit sore, "That's good" he said. You wanted to thank him without getting all mushy. After all, you're ok thanks to him. Gladion rubbed his head. He still looked like he needed some rest. "Do you need anything?" you asked concerned. "Water I guess", he answered. You stood up and walked out of the room to get him a bottle. When you came back, you saw him petting Null and Eevee. They looked happy to see that he was ok. You gave him the bottle and he drank some water. "Are you feeling ok? That was some fall?" you asked cautiously. He didn't seem to make eye contact, "A bit sore but I'm feeling ok" he told you. You were relieved that it wasn't serious. You helped Gladion up to his feet, "Thank you for breaking my fall. You didn't have to" you said sincerely. He looked at you with a tenderness in his eyes, "I did what I had to...to protect you from getting hurt" he said. You blushed a little. He wanted to save you. He must have had some feeling for you. Even if it's just being friends. "I'm still grateful. I'm sure you'll feel better once we get to Koniknoi and get a good night's rest" you said. He nodded, "Should we be on our way?" he offered. You smiled, "Yes but one more thing" you said. He looked at you a bit puzzled. You took a deep breathe. You may not have anything to really give him to thank him, but this was to show him how you really felt. A simple yet sweet way of showing gratitude. You stood a bit on your toes and pecked his cheek, "For protecting me" you said. Gladion's face turned red in response, "Um....it was no problem" he responded flustered and avoiding your gaze. It was the first time you saw him actually get flustered. It was cute. Although it was just a kiss on the cheek, you felt giggly and happy. You seem to skip out the door, "Ok let's go" you said smiling. Gladion was still speechless so he just followed you without saying anything else and his face was still red as a Pikachu's cheeks.

Konikoni City was certainly beautiful, even in the evening. You wanted to explore but you thought it be best if you got to a hotel and explore tomorrow. Gladion didn't seem all that talkative on the way here. Well he's not much for talking anyways but I'm sure he just needs to rest. Or maybe the kiss too much for him? Thinking about it made you want to laugh. But you held it in. You went to rent out two rooms for and Gladion but the lady said there was only one available. You were a bit flustered thinking of sharing a bed with Gladion. "Don't worry there are two beds in the room", the lady told you. A part of you was relieved but at the same time you were disappointed. The lady gave you the key and you went on your way to the room. Inside the room were two beds, like the lady said. The décor was simple but was nice. You let all your Pokemon out for some relaxing time. They all found their favorite spots and settled down. Gladion seemed content seeing your Pokemon all around the room so he let Null and Zubat out. You looked at the clock and your tummy growled, "Time for dinner" you said "Are you hungry Gladion?" Gladion didn't say anything, but you heard his stomach growl. You giggled, "Yea" he finally said a bit embarrassed. You nodded," Ok then. I'll get to cooking" you said eager. You walked to the kitchen and took out everything you needed. You were missing one ingredient though. "I'm going to go to the store real quick ok", you told him. He nodded, "Sure but take Null with you" he said. You looked at him as if to ask why. He looked at you, "Just do it" he told you. You wanted to know why but perhaps the recent events made him worry about you. You didn't complain and took Null with you to the store.

Once you got back from the store with Null, you opened the door and saw all your Pokemon sitting with Gladion on the sofa watching TV. The sight made you smile, "I'm back" you announced. They all looked at you. Torracat and Mudsbray were simple lying on the ground but Eevee and Yungoos made themselves a bit too comfortable. Eevee was happy to sit in Gladion's lap and Yungoos was content sitting on his head. It was too cute and you wished you could've taken a picture. You cooked dinner and prepared food for the herd of Pokemon in the room. He didn't say anything but Gladion seemed to enjoy your cooking and by enjoy he had two plates. After dinner, you all settled down in bed. Null and Mudsbray lied at the foot of the beds while everyone else was on the covers with you. Eevee couldn't seem to settle down and you think you knew why. You told Eevee it was ok if it went to sleep on Gladion's bed. You did have Torracat and Yungoos with you already. Eevee smiled and eagerly jumped on Gladion's bed. You wish you had as much guts as Eevee. Now that was a Pokemon who had no shame. Eevee cuddled itself under Gladion's arms, happy as could be. Gladion didn't object to it, so you guess he was alright with Eevee there.

The next morning was the day you explored Konikoni city. You made breakfast for everyone and prepared for some walking. Gladion didn't seem to mind following you around, but you sure took him everywhere in that city. You went in every shop you saw and looked at every stand you could get to. Gladion wasn't much for window shopping but he let you look around. The last place you went to was the stone shop. All the stones and artifacts were amazing. Before you left, you were greeted by a Probopass who handed you a letter. It was from Kahuna Olivia that said to meet her on route 9 past the cemetery for a battle. You were excited to finally challenge her. After lunch, you made your way to battle Olivia. Past the cemetery was the ruins for Tapu Lele. You and Gladion took a quick look around before turning around, which is when you ran to Olivia. "I see you finally made it. Are you ready to battle?" she asked. You were eager to show her the strength of her Pokemon, "Ready as I'll ever be" you told her confident. She nodded, "Then let's begin. The battle against the island kahuna" she said.

Your team wasn't fit for the rock type but they tried their best. Mudsbray ended up being the savior of the team and by the end of the battle it began to evolve. You were excited, "Mudsbray is evolving" you said happy. Mudsbray evolved and took shape to become Mudsdale. Mudsdale was a lot bigger than Mudsbray but you knew you could count on it to help you in your journey. "Good job training Mudsbray", Gladion told you a bit impressed you now had a strong Pokemon on your team "Your Pokemon are growing". You gave your new Mudsdale a hug, "I'm so happy for you Mudsdale. Do you think we can get a ride sometime?" you asked. Mudsdale whinnied happily. Olivia congratulated you and rewarded you with Rockium Z.

Before returning to Konikoni city, you ran into Hau. "Hey (Y\N) did you battle Olivia yet?" he asked. You nodded and showed him the Rockium Z. "Cool. I'm going to battle her next. After that you guys want to go to Hano Beach? We gotta go before we leave for the next island" Hau asked excited. You almost forgot about Hano beach and it would be nice to relax for once, "Sure I'll go with you. How about you Gladion?" you asked him. Gladion didn't seem like he wanted to go at all, "I'm not really a beach person" he responded. "Aw come on you party pooper. It'll be fun and you need fun grumpy pants", Hau invited. You had to think of a good reason for him to tag along, "Please Gladion. It be best if you relaxed more since the last few days have been kind of rough" you told him. You would feel better if he'd just loosen up and relax for once. Also you weren't sure if he was 100% better. Gladion looked at you, his emerald eyes deciding on an answer. He sighed, "Fine I'll go. But I'm not going to build sandcastles or play in the water like a child" he said. Hau seemed a little insulted "Playing in the water is for everyone and its fun", he said. It has been a while since you been to the beach and actually enjoyed yourself, "It's ok Hau he can sit there while we have fun in the sun" you said. Hau's smiled return, "Yea. We'll have so much fun" he responded. Gladion rolled his eyes," I'm sure I'd be missing out" he said sarcastically. Hau snickered, "Oh don't worry. We'll make sure to include you. You're gonna have fun" he told him.
