A\N Enjoy
The four of you boarded the helicopter and flew back to Melemele Island. The sight of looking at Alola from up high was beautiful, but it was hard to admire when you were so drained. Kukui sat up front with the piolet, he seemed to be making some calls. This whole being champion thing felt like just a dream and it happened so fast too. You didn't really feel like a champion. But maybe you were just too tired to think straight. The sun was setting by the time you arrived back in Iki Town. The whole town seemed to have gathered to congratulate you. It was really embarrassing to have everyone's attention on you. Kukui waved his arms in the air to get attention, "Don't worry there will be plenty of time to celebrate tomorrow. The champion needs to rest now" he announced. At least somebody was aware of how tired you were. You clung on to Gladion's arm and allowed him and Hau to escort you back to your house. You were relived to be away from the crowd. As you got to the porch, your mother came running out to greet you, " (Y\N) I heard you're the new champion of Alola. I'm so proud of you sweetheart" she said giving you a hug. Gladion backed away a bit. "I'm really tired mom. Can you save it for tomorrow please? I want to finish the day as a still normal person before I get the attention of the whole Alola region" you told her. Your mother understood, "Of course. Let me get dinner started then" she told you. She then looked at Hau and Gladion, "You two are welcomed to come in. I want to hear all about the journey" she continued. You all walked into the house. Meowth greeted you at the door, it was happy to see you. Hau sat at the table and started a conversation of your mom. I'm sure he had plenty to tell. You went to put all your stuff away and Gladion followed, perhaps to steal a moment with you. You made your self-comfortable, kicking off your shoes (or sandals) and throwing your bag on the bed. Gladion took a look around your room, "It's very you" he said. You smiled a tired smile. You were happy to be home. It seemed like an eternity, yet not really. "I just want to sleep, but dinner sounds really good", you told Gladion hugging him. He allowed you to rest against him, "You deserve sleep and rest" he responded. You sighed and just stood there with him. Which brings up to mind, your mother didn't know about you two. I hope she doesn't make a big deal about it. You better get back to the kitchen, but this alone time was too tempting not to leave.
Back in the kitchen you sat at the table, happy to finally get off your own feet. "Sounds like Hau had a blast. How about you (Y\N)? Did you enjoy seeing the sights with your boyfriend?" she asked. You almost fell off the chair. Gladion glared at Hau, "I didn't say anything honest" Hau spat out scared. Your mother giggled, "It's alright. You should know mothers know these things. I've been in your shoes before" she said. Well you had a lot of explaining to do. "I-I don't know where to start", you stuttered a bit. Gladion was silent, awkwardly silent. "Don't worry I'm sure I'll hear all about it eventually. Journey aside please, introduce me to your boyfriend", your mom requested. It was no surprise that the first thing mom wanted to hear about was Gladion and it was true she would hear about my journey eventually, there was no rush. Let's just get introductions over with, but before you could say anything Gladion spoke up. "My name is Gladion. I am also a Pokemon trainer. My parents run the Aether Foundation" he told your mother. You mother looked intrigued and a bit surprised, "Well it's nice to meet you, Gladion. I'm (Y\N)'s mother. I'd like to hear about how you two got together, if you don't mind" she said. Mothers are always trying to get all the details. "The first time we met was on Akala Island over by Panola Town", you started. You didn't really want to tell her that it wasn't a very friendly start to a relationship. "It wasn't until we kept bumping into each other across Alola that we started to get to know each other" you continued. You mother nodded listening, "So you two eventually started traveling?" she asked. You both nodded, "Once we got to Ula'Ula" you answered. You mother finished making dinner, "And you two started dating?" she questioned getting out plates and other things. "Recently", Gladion answered for you "Before we made it to the elite four" he said. You could see Gladion was really trying to talk and communicate with your mother. Not that he can't, you just knew he was more to himself and that this situation was kinda awkward for the both of you.
