A\N I've decided to split the date chapter into parts, because I put a bit of drama in to start and make the story juicy. Also Episode 47 of the anime will feature Gladion battling Ash (If what I read was correct) and he will show Null.
A week has past. Everywhere you went, it was like you were a celebrity. It was going to take some time to adjust. Hopefully you wouldn't have people up in your business 24\7. Gladion has been staying in Iki town to be with you. Though he didn't stay with you at your house, no matter how much you wanted him to. You asked him why he didn't go back home. He said it be too much traveling back and forth, which was true. Mom said that boys needed their space. It was understandable, but you missed him sleeping in the same room. No bad thoughts intended. At least he didn't have to see you with wild child hair in the mornings anymore.
You've been thinking about what Lillie said about the date and about Lusamine wanting to apologize. Might as well knock out two Pikipeks with one everstone. On a Friday morning, you and Gladion set sail to the Aether Foundation to visit. You stood at the edge of the boat, enjoying the cold ocean breeze. Gladion was leaning against the cabin wall, not too far behind you. "You think your mother wants to really apologize Gladion?", you asked out of curiosity. Gladion shrugged, "I'm not sure, actually. But I'll trust whatever Lillie has to say" he told you. Right. It feels like you fought Lusamine just the other day, but you believed a person could change. It will take a while and what better person to lecture Lusamine than Lillie. The two of you soon arrived at the Aether docks. The state of the foundation looked to be in better shape than before. Ms. Wicke stood to greet the both of you. She led you back to the mansion, where all the chaos began. Upon entering the house, you saw Lillie showing Lusamine how to do simple house work. Lusamine still looked a bit sick to be honest. It wasn't long until you were noticed, Lillie came up to greet you. "I'm wasn't expecting you two to be here, but I'm glad you are" she said. You smiled. Lillie noticed you glancing at Lusamine, "I know shes been a little under the weather. But the doctor says it will take a while before she feels herself again due to the trauma. But mother is doing well. I believe she will recover to be a better person" she explained. You nodded and took in her words. Lillie gave her brother a quick hug, happy to see him. "My son.... I'm glad you came" Lusamine said a little weak approaching the two of us. Gladion looked at you. You gave him a gesture to hug his mother. Although, you knew it must be hard for him. "(Y\N) and I came to visit. Lillie said you had something to say" Gladion told her. Lusamine let go of her son and stood up straight, she became quiet. This mustn't be easy for her. "Yes. I must apologize for my previous behavior. I put you in danger. I put all of Alola in danger and it's something I regret. I hope you can forgive me" she apologized. You could tell she was sincere. Lillie must have done some serious work with her mother. You could tell she was really trying to change, the process probably drains her. You nodded, "I forgive you. You must have had a reason to do what you did" you said. Lillie spoke up, "We've been trying to figure that out but nothing has sparked anything. We'll keep working on it though. I promise" Lillie said. That's going to take a lot of time and healing. Lusamine turned to Gladion, "My son. May I ask you to forgive me? I know I've been a horrible mother to you and I've put Null and other Pokemon in a lot of pain. If you can't forgive me now, I understand. Then perhaps I can make it up somehow" she apologized to him. That was quiet an apology. You wouldn't even know what to say if you were in Gladion's shoes. Gladion was silent. He didn't make any eye contact. His mother sighed, "Give it some thought my son. But if you can't, I understand" she said a little heartbroken. You felt bad for Lusamine but you understood Gladion's feelings. Hopefully he can eventually forgive her.
On a less serious note, Lillie gave you the updates on the newly improved facility. Who this time, was really working for the better of Pokemon. At least you didn't have to worry anymore. Lillie seemed to get a bit off track, "Lillie?" you said grabbing her attention. Lillie stopped talking for a second, "Oh I'm sorry. You two want to know about the date. Well to be honest I had to change it a bit last minute" she explained. Last minute change? Was that good or bad? "I was looking at some pictures of when Gladion and I were little and this one picture was at a festival. It looked really fun. My mother said this festival happen only once every few years because the stars shine more brightly only once in a while. It's like some sort of Starlight festival and sometimes a meteor shower happens." She told you. You were intrigued, "When is it?" you asked. Lillie smiled, "Actually it takes place over the next few days. I was actually going to call you two later, but you came at the perfect time" she said. Perfect time indeed. "The first day starts tomorrow at Panola Town on Akala Island. They say the quiet country side is the best place to star gaze" she continued. ^ ^ Stargazing. Nothings more romantic then cuddling under the stars. You were in love with the idea. "I think it's the perfect first date Lillie" you praised her. Lillie was relieved at your approval, "That's great. I'll just have to save my first idea for the next date then. Until then perhaps you two can stay here. I'm sure Mother would love to see you two off. If you two don't mind" she said. You smiled, "I'm ok with spending the night. Gladion?" you turned to him. You couldn't tell if he was happy or upset, "Fine with me" he said. It seems Lillie could tell what was on his mind, "Brother I know it's hard, but mother is trying to be a better person. I know she can be too much at times. She's getting better and she's really trying to make up for the past" she explained to him. Gladion didn't say anything in response. Maybe he needs time to think about it. Hopefully it won't interfere with the date. "If you two don't mind, I'm going to take a walk around the sanctuary" he eventually spoke. You nodded, "Ok but don't overthink it too much" you said. He saw the concern in your eyes, "I know" he said before walking off. You wanted to go with him, but everyone needs some space every once in a while.
You spent some time with Lillie and Lusamine while Gladion was absent. It was almost like watching someone getting therapy. Lusamine was easing her way back to managing the Aether Foundation. Lillie really has been trying to help her mother change and get better. It was working, but at a slow pace. You could see Lusamine changing into a more caring person. Most of the time was spent doing mother daughter things and helping Lusamine care for her Pokemon. You felt a little out of place, but Lusamine welcomed you in to join whatever she was doing with Lillie.
After a while, you excused yourself to go look for Gladion. He was seated in the sanctuary, looking at some Pokemon playing. You went to sit next to him. He looked at you, but said nothing. "Is everything ok?" you asked. His body language didn't look like he wanted to share. "Please Gladion" you pleaded. He sighed, "I don't know what to think. I just can't forgive her for all that's she's done" he finally said. That's what you were afraid of. "I know it's not the easiest thing to deal with, but she's your mother and she's trying now to make up for it" you told him. "It weird. Like I don't even know her anymore" he said. "It's because she's changed and you have to accept that as the new her. Isn't it better that she trys now then not at all?" you questioned. Silence. "She's trying to be a real mother now. One that cares for her children. I know she wasn't the best role model but she's trying now. Can't you at least give her another chance? Please for me? I want you to be happy and have a good relationship with her. I'll be here with you all the way" you encouraged him. Gladion looked ashamed, maybe for treating this so immaturely. He had plenty of reasons just to cut off contact with his mother, but how can you turn away someone who's trying to be better? You were really thinking of rescheduling the date. You had to be mature about this. Though you badly wanted to go on this date. But if matters can't be help, then what can you do?
