Chapter 42 It's Finally Over

A\N We're finally done with the main event but no worries. I have a few more chapters to write about before we get to the Elite Four. Next chapter, you and Gladion have some talking to do. No you can't keep Nebby. If no one in the anime can keep a legendary, you sadly can't either. But that doesn't mean you can't see Nebby from time to time.

You and Lillie did your best to try to take down Lusamine, but simply attacking wasn't enough. You need a plan, to work together as one. "Lillie we need to follow up each other's attacks ok" you told her. She nodded, "Ok I think I can do that. I'll try my best" she told you. This was a first for you being in charge of Gladion's Pokemon. But they knew you. They trusted you. "Sneasel Ice Shard! Aim over her head!" you told it. Sneasel fired off 5 shards of ice. "Sorry but your aim is off. What a dumb little fool you are", Lusamine taunted. You looked at Lillie, who seemed to have got your message, "Torracat melt the ice with your Flamethrower" she cried. Torracat's flames melted the ice into water that came spilling over Lusamine. She wasn't fazed herself, but the beast she was combined with did. I don't think it likes water. If that's the case, it could be also weak to grass. But you had no grass type Pokemon. You must try some other moves. "Good thinking on your part Lillie. You read my mind", you praised her. She smiled, "Well I was thinking of how you battled. I've seen you use moves for different outcomes "she said. Well you had to improvise sometimes to get certain effects. She had a point. "My turn", Lusamine said. The little gem like spots on her body glowed and she released a Power Gem. "Sylveon counter with MoonBlast", Lillie ordered. Sylveon's MoonBlast collided with the Power Gem, creating an explosion of light. "Silvally, Sneasel use Metal Claw and Crush Claw Go!", you commanded. Running under the explosion, both Pokemon attacked together in unison. Silvally jumped up and crashed down on one of Lusamine's arm. Sneasel followed up with Metal Claw. The beast side retracted its arm in pain. "Looks like steel might be a weakness too", someone said weakly behind you. You turned back to see Gladion approach. You urged him to go sit back down, "I'm not going to watch you and Lillie fight while I do nothing. I want to help" he said. You couldn't really argue with him. You gave Gladion control over his Pokemon and you split control with Lillie. She choose to partner with Sylveon, while you had Torracat and Dragonair. It wasn't a lot of progress, but it looks like that arm you injured was down for the count. Just 7 more to go. "Let's all go after a different arm. It should be quicker that way and don't be shy to ask for assistance" you said. Lillie and Gladion nodded and you continued your assault.

The beast was getting weak, you could tell. But so were your Pokemon. You had to give it your all. "Dragonair use Outrage. Torracat cover Dragonair with Flamethrower", you told them. Dragonair filled its self with a rage like power and attacked. A tentacle arm came down to hit Dragonair. Torracat attacked with Flamethrower, making the arm miss. You gained assistance from Lillie and Gladion. Sylveon using Swift to hit multiple times and Sneasel using Metal Claw to do some extra damage. Dragonair attacked the main body on the beast fiercely and hit multiple times. But after the damage was done, it became confused. You had to call it back for now, "Dragonair good job. Now return" you said. You swapped its place with Luxio. "(Y\N), Gladion let's do that water thing again", Lillie proposed. The idea hit you. Now since you had an electric on your team, the damage would be stronger. You nodded and began the plan. Sylveon did the distraction and attacked the beast's face with Swift. Afterwards, Sneasel and Torracat followed up with their combo. The water covered the beast's body. "Now Luxio Discharge!" you commanded urgently. Luxio released a surge of electricity, shocking Lusamine. The attacked caused her to fall to the ground. Was she defeated did you do it?

A shine came from the beast's body and it retaliated with Mirror Coat. A stronger Discharge attack your Pokemon. Torracat down. Sylveon down. Everyone else was heavily damaged. It was that damage that gave Sneasel the will to evolve into Weavile. " Still up for the battle Weavilie?" Gladion asked. The ice dark type Pokemon smirked. Looks like it was still willing to go. You called Torracat back and Sylveon. You summoned Mudsdale and Yungoos. True Yungoos won't do much damage, but it was a speedy little Pokemon and great at distractions. Silvally took the attack, gaining a new typing. From its previous training with you, Silvally can now be Ice, Electric, Fairy, Ground, Fire, Dragon and with Gladion's Pokemon it added Poison, Flying, and Dark to the mix. "While it's on the ground Silvally! Change to Ground type and use Multi Attack!", Gladion told it, taking this opportunity. Silvally raked its ground infused claw into the beast. The attack was super effective. The beast writhed in pain. "Hey that move really did a lot of damage. I'm sure Mudsdale can be of some help", you said. "I got a better idea. Use Mudsdale Z Move. I'm sure it will finish this battle", Gladion suggested. You nodded, "Right. I hope this won't hurt your mother too much. Alright Mudsdale! Let's combine our friendship and use Tectonic Rage!" you shouted. Mudsdale whinnied. You equipped the Z crystal into your Z ring and preformed the stance. Mudsdale surrounded itself with Z power! Mudsdale broke the earth open with its hooves, creating cracks inside the ground. Lusamine fell in. Mudsdale gave the beast a mighty kick, sending Lusamine flying further into the ground. An explosion then occurred and the Earth spat Lusamine back to the surface. The attack was devastating to the beast. You praised Mudsdale for its attack and waited to see what has become of Lusamine. Her remaining arms (tentacle) shattered from the attack. She was defenseless. Yet, she rose up from the ground in a rage. You were sure that Z move would've done it. "Solgaleo, Lunala! Please help!", Lillie called out. The legendary duo came to our aid. Both legendary Pokemon attacked together with Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam. Together their powers eradicated the beast surrounding Lusamine.

Lusamine and the ultra-beast's bodies separated. Exhausted, Lusamine fell backwards on the cold hard ground and the beast returned to its Pokeball. "Mother!" Lillie cried as she ran to Lusamine's side. You and Gladion followed afterwards. Lusamine opened her eyes and caressed Lillie's cheek with her hand, "Lillie" she said weakly "When did you start becoming so...beautiful?" she told her. Lillie held her mother's hand as Lusamine drifted off into an exhausted slumber. The place suddenly started to shake. The other ultra-beast returned. Guzma came running up, "We have to get out of here now. Those things don't look happy" he said. Right. We came here to stop Lusamine and we did. Solgaleo and Lunala lent us a hand and teleported us back.

You were relieved to have this whole ordeal done with, yet you were happy you went through with it. Lusamine didn't look to be in good shape, but hopefully with some rest she'll be good as new in no time. Hopefully, she'll even be a better person.
