I can't wait to see you again

"Dear Stranger called Isak,

I'm sitting in the cafeteria right now, looking at you from across the room. After what happened yesterday, I still can't help but wonder if it was only a dream, a sick imagination my mind made up.
I told David and the others that I have biology homework to do and need to be alone to concentrate, so that I could write you this letter.

Yesterday, after YOU sent ME that request, which was something I would have never expected, even in my wildest dreams, I literally danced around my room, feeling SO happy and SO excited. I just couldn't believe it. My mum even knocked on the door and asked me if everything's okay. She probably thought I was being manic again. But no, I'm not. No mental illness can cause this euphoric feeling inside of me, it seems only you can...
Which is why I've decided to do something about it. Screw Sonja and her feelings, it's my right to have my own life and make my own decisions at some point, too.

So, I have made the decision that, when I'm done writing this letter, I will get up, walk towards you and your friends, smile at you and say something.
I don't know what I'll say, but it will definitely be something funny, something that will make you curious, will make you want to get to know me.
But I've also made the decision that, if it goes wrong, if you'll make clear that you have no interest at all in me, this will be my last letter I will ever write to you.
So, I hope these are not the last words I'll write for you.

Speak to you in a second,

Even."

Evens palms were sweaty, his heart beat fast. He packed his stuff and got up, his bag thrown over his shoulder.
With his right hand, he ran his fingers through his blonde quiff, making sure every strand of hair was where it's supposed to be. Trying to look as chill and laid back as possible, he walked slowly towards the table where the four boys were seated. There was the one with the eyebrows, the blonde one, the one with the dark skin and of course, Isak. They all looked nice and Even was sure they wouldn't laugh at him. At least he hoped so, he was the older one, after all.
When he arrived at the table, their conversation stopped and the boys stared at him.

"Can we help you?" the one with the eyebrows asked.

"Uhm.." Even began, suddenly not so sure about himself anymore. His eyes immediately went to Isak, whose mouth hung a little open as he looked at Even. Cute.

"Um..I just wanted to let you know that there's a party at my place this Friday and you guys are welcome to join." Even continued, turning his gaze away from Isak to the rest of the boys.

They looked at each other, as if they silently argued about going or not.
Then, the blonde one spoke up.

"Hi, I'm Magnus." he said, holding out his hand. Even took it, "Even" he introduced himself and smiled.
"So, Even.." Magnus continued,
"will there be some third year chicks?"
The other boys laughed. "Yeah, definitely" Even answered grinning.

"Alright guys, we're going." Isak said and Evens heart jumped at the sound of his voice.
"Don't you have a date with Emma?" the one with the eyebrows asked Isak. Emma? A girl? Okay, Even thought to himself, that's it. Disappointment started spreading in his body as he looked at the handsome blonde.

"Jonaas, how often do I have to tell you, we are NOT dating." Isak said, rolling his eyes.
Even let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. Nothing was lost yet. Jonas answered something Even didn't hear because he was too busy admiring Isak.

"So, I'll take it you're coming?" he spoke up, making the boys turn their attention to him again.
"Yeah, we are. I'm Mahdi by the way." the other boy said and smiled.
"Nice to meet you." Even answered smiling back. Expectantly, he looked at Isak, waiting for him to introduce himself. But nothing happened.

"See you on Friday then." Even said, then looked Isak directly in the eyes.
"I'll text you the time and address on facebook, alright?" Even saw how Isak gulped as the other boys turned their questioning looks to him.

"O-okay." Isak said, after clearing his throat and looking down on the table.
As Even turned around and walked away, he heard Jonas ask Isak:

"Do you know that guy?" and smiled satisfied as he left the canteen to go to his math class.
That didn't went too bad, he thought to himself. Okay, Isak may or may not be dating a girl, but at least he agreed to coming to the party. Shit, the party.
How could he explain his parents that he will be hosting a party at their place tomorrow? Even shrugged his shoulders, as if to reassure himself that someway, things would work out. As long as Isak would be there, things would work out.

After school, Even texted David, telling him to invite all third year guys and girls he knew to the party. Then he bought loads of beer, vodka, crisps, red cups and glow-in-the-dark body paint. He talked to his parents, who had planned on going out on Friday night anyway and agreed to the party, as long as Even wouldn't drink too much and clean up afterwards.
David informed him that about 40 people agreed to come and after a long evening of decorating the living room, creating a music play list and putting all of the beer in the fridge, he finally came to the hardest part of the preparations.
Texting Isak. Even opened facebook messenger and typed in Isak's name. There he was. Thinking for a while, Even began writing.

"Hey Isak, the party will begin at 7 pm. I live in Blomst Street 5 in Oslo. Looking forward to seeing you."

Even hesitated before pressing 'send'. Should he really leave in the last part? Wouldn't that be a bit desperate?
Deciding to just go for it, Even pressed the 'send' button. No risk no fun. He put the phone on his pillow and began changing into his pajamas. He was halfway in his sweatpants, as he heard the vibration noise. Frantically picking up his phone, Even stared at Isak's response.

"Hi Even. Will be there. I'm looking forward to seeing you, too. P.s.: Sorry for being so rude today."

Even couldn't help but smile. This was definitely not something a straight guy who wasn't interested would write.
Even sighed happily and sunk half dressed on his mattress. Tomorrow would be a life changing day, Even could feel it.
And with the thought of talking to Isak the next day, the phone pressed to his chest and his pajamas half way on, Even drifted into a peaceful sleep.
