Chapter 17: Wake

"I don't know if I have that." I mumbled turning around so that I was facing away from the light.

"Yeah, I gave you the payment yesterday. You don't have it?" I asked again rubbing my nose. 

"Adeline, stop talking in your sleep and wake up!" A voice screamed. Giggling I turn and point towards the person.

"Oooh, someone's mad." I say getting up and jumping on the bed.

"What's wrong with her Janet?" The man asks. I stop my jumping and crawl off the bed.

"I don't know. Maybe something to do with her magic. I looked in all the books, she's acting incoherently. Where's Kayden, he might be able to help." The pretty woman says. Lieing back I twirl around in the sheets until I'm fully tangled before laughing.

"He left before, I don't think he wanted to see her like this." He said pointing towards me. 

Kicking the sheets off me I run towards the balcony doors and burst them open.

"Adeline no!" The boy screams running after me. Giggling I dangle myself off the edge and stare at the trees.

"Hey whats the idea buddy!" I scream as he wraps his arms around me and pulls me back into the room.

"There's no idea Adeline. You need to rest." He says pushing me onto the bed. 

"Oh, I see now. You want to sleep with me!" I giggle wrapping my hands around his neck. 

"Um Adeline as much as I'd love to do that, you have one angry Alpha watching you right now." He says as I attempt to kiss him. 

"Alpha? What's that!?" I question turning around and staring at the angry man in the doorway. 

"Oh, its him. I don't like that person." I say pointing towards him. Crawling back over to the other man I throw myself in his arms. 

"Carry me!" I sing as I sway lightly. 

"How much did the doctor give her?" He questions putting me back onto the bed, much to my disappointment. 

"Not much, only a little bit. I think it might be her magic playing a role here. The medication was only to make her sleep." The woman explained. I laughed and twirled around but stopped and stared at the man in the doorway.

"Who's that?" I whisper. The woman and the man both give me a look but I smile and keep twirling.

"Adeline, darling you're going to get dizzy. Just lie down." The woman pleads grabbing onto my arm. 

"Hmmm Mmmm." I sing as she puts me back into bed. Glancing at the man in the doorway I frown.

"Stop staring at me!" I scream throwing my fist in the air.

"Adeline, calm down. Kayden have you called the doctor?" She asks pulling my fist down.

"Yes, he's on his way." The deep voice says making me shiver. Getting up abruptly I stalk towards him. Giggling I pull him towards me. 

"So cute." I say pinching his cheeks. Getting on my tippy toes I kiss his cheek then laugh.

"Who are you? I know you from somewhere!" I scream twirling around him. Jumping up and down I place another kiss on his cheek.

"Adeline, calm down." He says grabbing my shoulders, making my movement stop.

"Why? You don't like me?" I pout wrapping my arms around his neck.

"It's not that, you need to rest." He says wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Then sleep with me." I giggle kissing his cheek again. Running my hand down his arm I gasp.

"Hey, why are your biceps bigger than mine? No fair!" I cry grabbing onto his arm. He chuckles and grabs my arm.

"Adeline, I'm going to put you back in bed ok?" He asks. I nod quickly and grab his hand pulling him over to the bed.

"Take your shirt off!" I scream pointing at him. He looks at me quickly before pushing me lightly onto the bed.

"I think you look good without a shirt on." I giggle tugging on his shirt. Groaning I fall back into the bed and twirl around.

"Kayden honestly I think it would calm her down if you just lie with her." The woman offers. I sit up and nod quickly. That sounded like a great idea.

"Come, come." I say throwing the sheets back and crawling in. Patting the spot next to me I giggle when he climbs in as well.

"Oh, look how cute he is." I say wrapping my arms around him, even though I couldn't wrap all the way.

"So sweet." I say kissing his cheek once again. Cuddling up to him I rest my head on his chest.

"I'm going to sleep now." I say out loud and giggle before closing my eyes.

"Alpha Kayden, is everything all right?" A man asked making me shoot up. Staring at him suspiciously I fall back onto the man.

"Yes, everything's fine, but Adeline over here is a bit..." He says gesturing towards me. Pouting I cuddle him harder. I'm a bit what?

"Luna Adeline, do you mind if I check your vitals?" The old man asks coming over to me. I glance at him and shake my head.

"No, you're going to poison me!" I scream clutching the man harder.

"Adeline, calm down. This is the doctor." The man said wrapping his arms around me.

"No! I don't want to!" I cry out.

"Would it make you feel better if Kayden also got a checkup?" He asks motioning to the man.  Staring at him I shake my head.

"No, don't hurt him." I say rubbing my hand down his face. Smiling at him I wrap my legs around his and sigh.

"Alright Luna, Kayden will hold you and I will do some things ok?" He asks. Nodding I smile and lean back onto him. He's so warm.

He checked my head, my arms, my legs. And he constantly wrote on that little notepad. Trying to grab it multiple times the man restrained my arms and pulled me closer to him.

"I want to see what he's writing." I pout putting my face into his neck. 

"Later, ok?" He asks rubbing circles around my back. Nodding I sighed I liked this position.

"Doc, did you know that I can make berries? I can show you." I say trying to get up. The man stops me and held me against him.

"That's lovely Luna, but I think you'd rather sleep." He suggests. Nodding quickly I squirm out of the mans hold and got comfortable on the bed.

"Come next to me." I say to the man, wanting him to cuddle me.

"Alpha Kayden, may I speak to you for a few minutes?" The doctor asks. I gasp and sit up.

"Hey, take me with you!" I cry out. 

"It will only be a minute Adeline." The man says getting out of bed. Frowning I crossed my arms and pouted. No fair!

"What about you handsome?" I ask to the other man. A growl across the room had me shut my mouth as I pretend to sleep.

"Alright everyone. Erik, Janet if you'll follow me out. The Luna should get some sleep." The doctor says. I yawn and twist around to get comfortable.

Hearing the door close I spring into action and throw the covers off me.

"Adeline, lie back down." The man commanded, coming into the bed with me. I smile and shuffle next to him as he lays besides me.

"Aww, what's your name?" I ask clutching onto his shirt.

"Kayden. Kayden Black." He says wrapping his arms around me. Sighing in content I wrap a lazy arm across his waist.

Oh my, this man has some huge muscles. How lucky can a girl get.

"Kiss me." I say looking up at him. He stares at me before leaning in slightly. Beeming I attach my lips onto his in a sweat kiss as his hand caresses my back.

"Now go to sleep." He whispers kissing my head as I nod.

"Kayden." I say slowly as I fall farther and farther into my own darkness.
