Chapter 22: Where am I?

Where am I? Not only did I fall and twist my ankle, but I managed to land in the middle of nowhere. 

Wheat surrounded me on all sides, trying to look over it was impossible as there was just more wheat!

"Who are you!" A voice screamed. Looking back quickly a woman holds a pitchfork as she points at me. 

"Hun, I think an alien has landed on our land! Get the shotgun!" She screamed trying to corner me. Turning and running I quickly cast a spell, healing my leg. 

"Get back here ET!" She screamed chasing after me. Oh god, where am I?

Running through the eternal wheat I started to curse in my head. God, did I really just transport to a farm?

I couldn't make another portal these people were human. That was the number 1 rule in the witching community, never let mortals know. 

"Get away form me lady!" I screamed behind me. Her battle cry was the only thing I heard as she chased me down. 

Trying not to laugh at her cries I run faster. Please trip! Please trip! I prayed as the woman started to catch up to me. 

An idea popped in my mind and I secretly chanted causing a tree root to shoot out of the ground, easily jumping over it I laugh as the woman falls face first into the dirt. 

Covering my hand over my mouth I scream out a "sorry" as I run away. 

I needed to get to a secluded area to call Veldon. 

I cursed as I hear a gun shot ring out through the brush. Keeping my head low, I pray that whoever has the gun can't see me through all of the wheat. 

"Hey you!" I hear as another shot rings out, this time I feel my shoulder cry out as it shoots through my skin. He got me. 

Holding onto my shoulder I run faster, I couldn't remember any spells at that moment, as fear consumed me. He would get my head next time. 

Finding the road ahead I breath out, I hoped that whoever it was far enough away as I run down the road clutching my shoulder. 

"Veldon!" I scream out trying to contact him in my head. He wasn't answering, typical. 

"Stop right there!" Another scream rings out as another shot goes through the air hitting me in the back. Damn this. 

"Veldon!" I scream again in my head trying to break his barrier. "Help me, I don't know where I am! And someone's shooting me!" I scream out to him. He still didn't reply and I started to get really worried. 

No one's gonna help me. So I had to help myself. 

Remembering an invisibility spell I chant it as I blend in with the background. Blood was pooling out of my wound and I cursed. I couldn't heal this, I had to take out the bullets first. 

"Where did she go?!" A voice calls out, looking behind me I see a young man with missing teeth looking around. Another man much chubbier and dirty followed after holding a gun. 

"See, I told you she was an alien!" The woman screamed coming out of the wheat. Her eye looked messed up, but I could care less at that moment. 

I needed to get somewhere safe, my adrenaline didn't stop as I ran down the long road. Jesus, when does this thing end! My energy was draining as blood soaked my clothing. 

Calling out to Veldon one more time I thought of skipping him and trying Janet.

"Janet!" I call in my head. I could hear a small voice as her voice boomed in my head.
