"You really scared me back there!" A voice said. Opening my eyes slowly I groaned inwardly as my head started to pound.
"Do you know what happened to her Erik?" The same voice asked. I could hear some shuffling as my body dipped lightly as a weight joined me on the bed.
"Adeline, you're safe now. Open your eyes." A soothing voice said. Squinting lightly I opened my eyes to come face to face with Janet as she peered at me.
"Seems like she's awake, you can stop fretting over her now Janet." Said a male voice. Looking over at the voice I gaped. A handsome man was standing to my right as he peered at a bag containing a liquid of sorts.
His short brown hair contrasted with his bright blue eyes that would make Poseidon bow down. He was well built, with broad shoulders and a nice looking body.
'He's not that handsome compared to Kayden' my unconscious thought. Shooing away those thoughts I looked over him quickly.
"Handsome isn't he." Janet giggled slapping the mans thigh. He frowned at her and looked at me. Blushing as I realized I've been caught staring I pretended to be interested in the plant lying in the corner.
"Let me examine her. If you'll excuse us Janet." The man said shooing her outside. Blushing deeply I unconsciously gripped the sheets.
"Sorry about her, she can be quite the personality." He said coming over to me. Looking away from his piercing eyes I glanced at the door.
"Where are we? What happened to Janet's home?" I asked lying back onto the bed.
"Well, let's just say that the Alpha was not that happy to find that his mate was not there. You obviously." He said sitting down next to me. I scooted over to give him more room and I looked down. This was all my fault.
"It's not your fault, that wasn't even Janet's home. The place that you are now is her actual home, she used that place as a distraction, so that they would be lost once they got there. I wonder who Kayden's using, he is quite powerful, I wouldn't even be surprised if he had the council helping him." He said moving my hair behind my ear. I blushed at that movement and cleared my throat.
"How do you know so much about him?" I asked. The man looked at me and laughed.
"I was his old Beta." He said turning my head to the side and moving my hair around.
Looking at him in confusion I raked my head to try and think of who a Beta is.
"We're the second in command, after the Alpha we're the second strongest, if anything happens to the Alpha we take over. There are a lot of rules that would quite bore you, but all in all I am by his side all the time." He said simply reaching his hand to look at my arms.
"Um... so you're like his sidekick. What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be like with him or something." I said stupidly. He looked at me and laughed once more.
"You are quite the cutie you know that. No wonder he's going through all this trouble to find you." He said laughing. My face turned crimson, blushing at his words.
"I don't know much about werewolves as you can tell. But, if you're his Beta then why are you with a bunch of witches?" I asked knowing that werewolves hated witches.
"He banished me." He said simply.
"Why?" I asked.
"You ask a lot of questions sunflower, to put it simply I did something very bad. Well, bad in his eyes and he banished me." He said taking out a box of bandages.
