Follow the light...

Opening one eye I look around cautiously, not only was I hearing things but I swear someone is staring at me.

Kayden had his arms draped around me as he snored quietly into my hair, it was still dark outside I noticed as I moved his arm off me slowly.

Trying not to wake him up, I sneakily crawl out from his side as he groans. Freezing I wait for his breathing to calm down before getting off the bed.

Where was that noise coming from? Staring around the room once more I notice light pouring out from underneath the doorway. Cautiously walking over to it, making sure Kayden was still sleeping I turn the knob.

Kayden groaned loudly making my heart stop, I hear him shuffle around before it goes quiet again. Sneaking a glance back I see him facing me but he was still asleep.

Follow the light...

Opening the door I shiver in fear as a ball of light, not bigger than a fist floats in front of me. I reach out to touch it, but it suddenly dashes off.

In any other situation, I would have woken Kayden up and asked him to check it out for me, but I couldn't compel myself to turn back around. Following the light hastily as it dashes downstairs I'm suddenly so mesmerized by this small ball.

Follow me...

The ball runs off again down the long foyer as I try to follow it. I haven't explored all of the castle yet, and I couldn't pinpoint exactly where this thing was leading me too.

Passing multiple hallways and dashing through corridors that seemed to be unoccupied I realized that this thing was leading me outside. Stopping momentarily I look around to see multiple pictures staring me down in the grand hallway.

Don't stop...

Going back into a trance I follow the ball as it goes through the glass door and outside. Opening the door I sprint outside, leaving it open.

Dashing through the overgrown grass behind the castle I face a low hill as I jump down from it, the ball going faster as I desperately try and keep up with it.

I stop suddenly when the light disappears and I'm stuck in the middle of the forest. Staring around quickly I'm shot out of my trance, and I'm faced with a large building a couple steps away.

Curiously I walk towards it, realizing that this is different from the cell Kayden brought me too last time. Opening the large doors that surprisingly doesn't have any security or password anywhere I walk towards the dark cell glancing cautiously for anything to pop up out of nowhere.

"I knew you'd come." A voice said startling me as I jumped back.

"Who's there?" I asked still adjusting to the darkness.

"You don't recognize my voice? Come on Adeline." The voice says sarcastically. Scowling I turn to leave before I'm suddenly stopped by a hard force.

"I want to talk to you." It said as I'm suddenly compelled backward towards the voice.

"I asked who are you!" I screamed as I shoved off the invisible force before turning around.

"I'm Damian, Adeline. I realized your little werewolf wouldn't like you coming to me but, I assumed he wouldn't come until later, fast asleep isn't he?" He asked as I cringed.

"You didn't put a spell on him or anything right?" I asked crossing my arms. I could easily hold my own against Damian and I could care less for his childish antics right now.
