Hindi ko alintana ang malimit na pagkaldag ng kotse na minamaneho ni Kiefer as we go home after dropping by to the police station to report the incident earlier. Buti na lang nahuli kaagad ang snatcher.
             
I persuaded Kiefer not to file charges against the man since I already got my pouch back, but being the resolute man he is, he didn't let the case pass without doing what he thinks is right. Isa pa, ayaw niyang maranasan pa ng iba ang nangyari sa akin kanina. I agreed, without voicing any thoughts.
           
My attention draws towards the person that accompanied us to the police station and is currently sitting at the back of the car, Kurt Dimapawi. Nagulat kaming lahat na magkakilala silang dalawa. Even ate Aria's self-claimed psychic abilities didn't see that coming.
           
Bago kasi kami magpunta sa police station ay nagawa pang magyaya ni Kiefer for a quick coffee time with Kurt. He wanted to catch-up with his old-time friend who happens to be the son of his former favorite English professor whose names goes with the acronym, Mr. J..
           
My fiancé even offered him a ride. I have never seen Kiefer asking a male companion for a ride home, so having a man at the car with us is utterly surprising. I wondered if Quent knows about him.
           
As for me, hindi ko pa siya nakikita sa buong buhay ko. Ang tagal ko nang nagta-trabaho kay Kiefer pero ni hindi man lang niya nabanggit ang Kurt Dimapawi na ito sa buhay opisina namin.
             
I frowned a little. Hindi ko mapigilang huwag tumingin kay Kurt. Bukod sa nakakahawang ngiti na naka-plaster sa mga labi niya at sa maalon-alon na hanggang balikat niyang buhok ay mukha naman siyang, ewan, well at least, disente.  I can't question that. I faked a cough and turned my head to speak to Kurt.
           
"So, Quent... I mean Kurt, sorry. Sorry. Hindi kasi ako sanay na may ibang kausap ang boss ko. The only person I know close to him is Quent, who happens to be his best friend. I apologize if I uttered the wrong name," paliwanag ko. Gusto kong batukan ang sarili ko sa simpleng pagkakamali na ginawa ko. It may seem that I was insinuating something when I called him Quent, but clearly, hindi ko talaga sinasadya.
             
Natawa ng bahagya si Kurt habang patuloy naman sa pagmamaneho si Kiefer. He didn't react to me. I saw him smirking a little but he still didn't speak. His focus is on the road, which kind of surprises me.
             
"It's okay. I knew Quent from high-school. We were acquaintances but merely friends. Want to know something cool? He stole my crush's attention kaya hindi ko na rin piniling kausapin siya. Baka kung ano pa ang agawin niya sa susunod eh," napahalakhak siya pagkatapos. Napangiti na rin ako. His laugh is like a breath of fresh air. Kung mayroon lamang kakambal si Piolo Pascual, baka si Kurt na iyon.
             
Kiefer butt in.
           
"I assumed Quent wasn't inform about that reason until now. Why don't you tie loose ends with him? Let's hang-out. We're grown-ups anyway. Quent won't mind and I'm sure you won't too, right?" Napahawak ako sa suot kong seatbelt ng marinig ko si Kiefer. Hang-out? Siya pa talaga ang nagyaya. It's not typical of him to hang-out. Kung mayroon mang dapat mag hang-out, kami iyon. With the hectic schedule our wedding preparation demands, hindi na namin magawa na magkaroon ng solo date.
           
"Kief---" I intend to finish my protest when Kurt cut me off.

"Sure. I'll let daddy know that we bumped into each other. I'm sure matutuwa iyon. You can ah... drop me at the sidewalk. I'll walk from there. Thanks, bro! It's nice seeing you. Uh, Jelai? It's fancy meeting you, too. I hope that we don't meet anymore drama when we see each other again. Salute!" Masigla niyang sabi pagkatapos buksan ang pintuan. Bago bumaba ay tumingin muna sa akin si Kurt at tumango. I did the same. I mouthed the words 'thank you' to him and give a mile-wide smile.

Nang makababa na siya ay saka ako huminga ng malalim. Hawak ko ang pouch na muntik nang matangay sa akin. Buti na lang talaga dumating si Kurt. Tila coincidence o parte ng tadhana ang mga nangyari. Kurt happened to passed by the area and became an instant hero. Ako naman ay nagsilbing tulay para magkita sila ulit. Everything is going well. Pero hindi ko pa rin pala naibibigay ang wallet cards kay Kiefer.
