Jimmy's POV
"You f&cking piece of Sh&at, did you just drink my last f&cking beer?" My dad was going off his brain as he was laying across the lounge with an empty beer can in his grip.
"Yeah I did. What are you gunna do about it?" Chest out I walked over to him.
He tried to get up out of his chair but he was far too gone and fell smack onto his face.
"Hmm, who's the f&cking piece o'sh&t now?"
It was barely a whisper but it was our normal. Dad would drink way too much and pass out around 10pm. Mum, where was she? Who knew. She took off years ago, met some guy at work and never looked back. I heard she even had another kid. Had she tried to call me? Hell no as soon as she left she was never to be seen or heard from again."Thanks Mum." I raised my bottle in the air saluting the women who had created and destroyed me.
As I walked out of my house and into the front yard I lit my cigarette. It was a really warm balmy night it had to still be 30 degrees. I was wearing a singlet and boardshorts but somehow I felt overdressed for this weather.
In the distance I heard the all too familiar sounds of my friends charger. A few seconds later he pulled up in our driveway. I walked over to the drivers window which was already wound down.
"Mick, what's doing?" I asked drawing back on my cigarette.
"Mate party at Matt's, chuck on some shoes and let's get going."
"Parko or Smithy?"
"Parko." Mick replied.
"I'm in."
I had a pair of vans at the front door so I raced over grabbing them as quickly as possible. Then I jumped inside the passenger seat.
Matt had the best house in Caves. He was actually a really decent person for all his wealth and notoriety. I called him Mr Perfect.
"Let's do it."
"Yew!!!!!" Mick loudly shrieked as he drove off onto the street leaving a stream of marks on the road as he took off.
Mick and I were Swansea boys. There were vast difference between those who lived in Swansea and Caves. It was called money. They had it and we didn't. Simple as that. We still hung out but it was things like Birthday Parties and Christmas present that you knew you'd never really be one of them. It was rare your best friend didn't live in your suburb as we all knew the real deal.
Tonight was no different. Pulling up around Matt's house the cars littered the street. The music was blaring and the light show was actually insane from outside the house.
We found a park next street over and started our walk.
"This is gunna be awesome." Mick gave my one of his signature smirks.
I looked at my watch. 1030pm hopefully I can score a f&ck before the nights over. As we opened the front door the first person I saw was the girl I wanted tonight, and I wasn't gunna take no for a answer.
"Game on." I whispered.
