Natalia's POV

To say my feet were aching was an understatement. After our end of year dance concert last month Mum pulled some favours and I joined this dance troupe in Sydney. At the end of this year we'd be travelling through Europe and the US for 3 months.

This weekend we got a small break as we were only required to attend on Saturday. But we were worked twice as hard to make up for the disruption.

Given my upcoming hectic schedule at school I was becoming anxious about how I was successfully going to manage both study and dance this year. It took nearly 1.5 hrs each way to get to Sydney and I'd have to wake up at 5am to catch the train every Saturday morning to get there by 9am. I'd be staying with my Aunty Maree on Saturday night then practice all day Sunday with the long train ride back in the arvo.

Missing out on social things was just part of who I was. I never had a boyfriend, never went to parties, don't get me wrong I got asked all the time, but how could I? I trained 6 days a week with only Wenesday's off for Math and English tutoring.

Tonight was going to be different. It was Matt Parker's 18th Birthday Party and my Mum actually allowed me to attend under the strictest of guidelines. My Mum was going to be there tonight helping Sue Matt's Mum in the kitchen so of course her watchful eyes would be constantly gazing my way.

As I started my shower my thoughts went back to one particular guy at school that had recently caught my attention. He wasn't like the other boys. He was deeper, more sincere, he had the most amazing blue piercing eyes and when he smiled, it made my heart flutter. He was different to anyone at school, but then again so was I.

I could hear my Mum calling my name as she walked into my room. "Natalia, I ironed your outfit, it's hanging behind your door. Let me know if you need help with your hair or make up."

"Ok, thanks Mum. I'll be 15 minutes then we can go." I'd jumped out of the shower and made my way into my bedroom. I sat down and did my make up applying mascara, eyeliner and a little lipgloss. My hair tumbled down in natural waves despite being damp, so I just had to dry it. I tuned into the music blaring from Matt's house instantly recognising the song. I started singing to myself, I had that feeling that this was going to be a great night.

"You ready?" Mum walked in. "Wow, ur look beautiful and so effortless."

I smiled. "Thanks Mum, now let's go."

We walked out of our house and walked right next store. I took a big deep breath as I opened the front door.
