Matt's POV

Jimmy cleared his throat. "Well it's obvious you won't be kissing anyone tonight Matt cause Sam ain't going to kiss you, so I dare you to .... build a Bon fire."

"Easy." I fist pumped the air.

"Wait, not done sweet cheeks. Then once it's lit you have to run around the bon fire naked singing the ring of fire."

F&ck!!!!!! My faced dropped. "Seriously!"

Everyone was laughing so hard.

"C'mon Matt, I'll help you collect wood." Abby got up and we walked around the beach making small piles.

After a few minutes Abby came over to me.
"Matt, thanks for everything. I really appreciate your friendship it means a lot to me." She brightly smiled. "But things between us can't happen I just need time to sort myself out. Maybe in a few months I might feel ok again but I can't even fathom being with another person right now. I hope you understand."

I grabbed Abby's hand and pulled her in and hugged her. "Listen Abs, you take all the time you need. Let's make this year about our studies and get the marks we need so we can go and do whatever we want next year. If you ever have any sort of feelings for me just please promise to let me know. Cause I'd hate to miss out on being with a girl like you." I placed my forehead on hers.

"It'd be hard to resist a catch like you. Give me time, I need to heal. But don't wait for me, live your life and have fun. I'm just not in that headspace at the moment."

We continued on our paths gathering the piles of wood around the beach and brought them back to the group. The others were drinking and talking. I ran up to the house to get some fire starters and a lighter. I bumped into my parents who were still cleaning up.

"Mum, Dad, I just want to thank you both for a really awesome night."

Mum awwwed and hugged me.

"You're welcome son. We couldn't be prouder of the man you're becoming we're just happy to give you this memory." Dad patted me on the back.

"Where's Mikayla?" I asked Mum.

"She's upstairs with her new friend Sarah? I think that was her name, she's sleeping over tonight."

I tried not to show any emotions, but I bet money that's the same girl that Mikayla had shared a kiss with a few week back when she played spin the bottle at a party. Rumours spread they were still kissing after the game had ended. But nothing was confirmed by either of the girls.

Mikayla had been acting a little strange of late. I'd have to have a chat with her later today after I get some sleep.

But right now I had a group of friends waiting for me so I went into the garage and grabbed some fire starters, a lighter and headed back to the beach.

Natalia and Tyler were stealing a few kisses here and there. They looked so cute together. Sam was talking to Hunter whilst Jimmy was holding her hand. Bizarre combo those two but if anyone could ground Jimmy it'd be Sam. Abby was walking along the shore still deep in thought.

I gathered all the piles spread across the beach into one massive pile and lit the fire. It took a bit to light up but it eventually caught fire. So now the naked run and sing song....great!

Everyone was cheering and clapping so I played a bit with the group. Each piece of clothing I took off I teased them for the next until there nothing left to remove.

So I started running laps around the fire singing "ring of fire."

Abby was clapping, singing and smiling she almost looked like her normal self. Once I finished up everyone went crazy. I put on my boardies and sat back down.

"Nicely done and well hung." Jimmy patted me on the back.

We laughed.

"Ok, so I may just ignore that comment. Anyways I have a group dare. Who's in?" I asked.

"Shit yeah!!" Jimmy yelled.

"I'm in." Smiled Hunter.

"Yeah ok." Tyler agreed and Natalia nodded.

"Abby, you in?"

"Depends."

"C'mon don't you trust me?" I bumped her shoulder a little with mine.

"Hahaha you want me to honestly answer that?" She rolled her eyes.

I did my best puppy dog face.

"Okay!!! I'm in." She easily surrendered.

I got up and walked over to the esky grabbing the bag I'd brought earlier. I removed the bag and it revealed a .....
