Samantha's POV

A flare gun?

What the hell!

Seriously, in the heat of everything that was about to go down, someone let off a flare gun?

We all snapped our heads towards the direction of the noise and saw a small fishing boat with two people inside. It was out towards the first cliff and heading towards the shore.

Jimmy ran over to the cliff and yelled out as loud as he could. "Are you guys alright?"

One of the guys inside the boats gets up. "The motors out."

I turned around and noticed that Tyler was already making his way up the top to ensure Dean was ok. Natalia had a worried look on her face. I walked over to her and grabbed her hand giving it a gentle pulse.

She turned to me and I smiled. She needed a friend right now.

"It'll be ok, Tyler's not going to make any silly decisions." I whispered into her ear.

"Is that Mr Robinson? You know the nice guy who owns the newsagency?" Matt was intensely looking at the figures inside the boat.

"Uncle Waz!" I yelled out letting go of Natalia's hand as I started walking towards Jimmy.

"Is that you Sam?" A voice from the boat yelled back.

"Yeah."

"Wazza's your uncle?" Jimmy turned to me as I nodded.

Jimmy then jumped into the water and swam out over to the boat. My uncle threw out a rope as he got closer. Jimmy guided the boat towards the shore.

"Thanks Jimmy, really appreciate the help. My engine and legs have being playing up something chronic today. The thought of having to get into the water was doing my head in and Dan over here is a bit too old to play heroics." He pointed to the old man who looked well into his 80's as he quietly sat in the boat.

"So when we saw light flickering on the beach and figures about we thought better get your attention with the flare."

"No worries Waz. We need to get a look at this motor, any idea what it could be?" Jimmy was taking the cover off the motor.

Uncle Waz scratched the back of his head. "Maybe the fuel pump is blocked."

The others had come around the boat and Matt offered to get any tools from the garage. After a few minutes of pulling and prodding at the engine there was movement from the top of the cliffs.

Natalia turned her head towards the top of the stairs. Tyler and Dean were coming down the stairs. Natalia and Hunter ran over to the bottom of the steps and threw themselves into the boy's arms once they got onto the sand.

They were both safe.

Thankfully.
