Natalia's POV

It was suddenly very quiet amongst the group. We were all waiting for the exchange to happen. I had a feeling Tyler wasn't exactly being honest with me.

I whispered into his ear. "Are you going up to meet Dean?"

Tyler looked into my eyes. "Yes." I felt my stomach drop.

"Tyler, please don't go." Without realising my voice got louder. The others turned their heads in our direction. There eyes were now focused on our conversation.

"I'll go Tyler." Jimmy pushed forward. "You've got too much at stake, you're going to be famous someday and I'll just be some common carpenter."

We all laughed he was being sarcastic. It broke the somber mood.

"Jimmy, stop being daft, Jospeh was a carpenter and look how famous he was." Tyler smiled. "Listen, I'm going up, and no one can stop me. I'll just make sure the exchange happens without issue. If he gets into any s&it, I'm calling the police."

We all nodded. He was about to get up when I reached over and pulled him in close, giving him a quick peck on the lips.

"Please be careful. I just got you." I smiled into his eyes, but, I could see he was anxious to get away.

"Be back soon." He kissed me on my nose and then turned to the others. "If I'm not back within 30 minutes, call the cops. Make sure someone walks Natalia safely home."

Those words made me feel sick. He was more concerned about me being safe.
