You've been looking for a job but this is definitely not what you were waiting for."What do you mean exactly."
"We want you to be at our disposition at all times, but especially at Gaara's." Kankuro spoke as his eyes stared at your own.
"This is not what we agreed." Narrowing your eyes, you defended.
"We understand, but think about it. You'll receive a weekly allowance, a generous one."
"I could care less about money, besides I'm not a Medic Nin, find someone else."
The door to the office was opened to reveal the Kazekage. The male's eyes roamed the faces of his siblings and then they landed on your own. "What's the meaning of this?"
The siblings glanced at one another before Temari hardened her eyes. " We're doing things for your own good."
His now usual calm and warm eyes narrowed. "I've told you already." He then turned to you but his eyes returned to that warm expression. "I apologize in behalf of my siblings. You may leave whenever you wish."
Temari began to protest, but with a glare she closed her mouth and said nothing else. "It's quite alright, I'll leave then if there's nothing else you need me here for." With one more glance at the siblings, you left the room.
You're more than angry, you had a deal and now they wanted you to be there just in case you were needed. Now that you completed part of the deal, you're going to stay here as a civilian and nothing more. However they're more than likely the ones to break said deal, you just hoped that, that is not the case. If it comes to the fact that they're going to keep forcing you, then maybe you'll have to run away even with all the consequences that comes with it.
Reaching your home, you entered content that you're alone. If Goro was here he would probably be angrier than you, he's spoken about his distaste about certain things. Itachi leaves and comes, and yes you're curious as to what he does but you don't ask. That's his business, not yours.
Though, you're concerned about your parents. You haven't seen them and you don't know anything about them at all. You wish that you could at least know how they are doing, but even if you visit them, that would only bring more trouble for all of you.
It didn't take long for the siblings to show up once again. Restraining a groan, you opened the door to let them in. They looked around the house before they took the seat that you've offered. "Now what?"
"You know why we're here." Of course you knew and even if Gaara told them not to bother you anymore, they were not going to leave the subject.
"You know the answer already." Leaning back, you glared at the two of them.
Temari looked at the ground to gather her thoughts. "I understand that you don't trust us, especially when we left you with no choice about helping him." Her eyes glanced at you and she breathed. " But you must understand, if something happens to Gaara, it affects everybody. The people of the Sand Village depend on Gaara."
"I understand."Of course you knew that. As you thought about how tired you had been of being used, another replaced that thought. It's quite ironic that when you're arrived at Konoha, you wanted to be a Kunoichi because you wanted to protect those that couldn't. Now you're able to help others even at the expense of your body, causing pain to it. But you hated it, now you hated it more than anything in the world. You would have accepted in other circumstances, but you had been forced to save Gaara. In the eyes of these two, you're a tool to be used. Gaara has changed and now he knew what his siblings was doing, so he was being considerate.
"Listen, I'm not one for begging. If you're afraid of having to let your body go through the same pain, that's not the case. The reason why we want you at Gaara's side is to guarantee his safety. If he's injured, then you can help him if you're close to him." Kankuro explained.
Won't they stop insisting? Now a little agrabated, you took a deep breath. As you were about to give them your response, you paused. You've been worried sick of your parents and this is such a great opportunity to find out about them. "I'll accept, with one condition."
"Of course, what condition." Temari didn't even hesitate.
"My parents, I don't know any about them. I want you to keep me updated about their well being, and also, to send them a message each month." You described your condition, and from their smiles they seemed rather content.
"Very well then. I'll send someone to Konoha, and you'll be updated each month. Write whatever message you wish to send them. As for your new duty, you'll start tomorrow morning. For the time being, I'll alert Gaara about our decision."
From now on, you were given a new role. Although the it isn't very pleasant, that'll have to do. Besides why not take advantage of the situation? Staying here won't be too bad, it's closer to where your parent are living and you'll get to see how they are doing. Perhaps it's what is best, besides you have Goro and Itachi at your side. There's nothing to fear.
